I've just finished two weeks of Atkins Induction. All through that time I was never really hungry. This morning I woke up to a rumbling tummy. I'm not talking about cravings just physical hunger. Then about a 1/2 hour before lunch the rumbling returned. I'm carefully counting my carbs and holding steady at 20/day. It's not really that big a deal. I just like being free of hunger pangs throughout the day.

Hello,
Maybe you are simply not eating enough at your meals and you should also plan for snack or you are eating hidden carbs to make your blood sugar fluctuate.
Anyway, the beautiful thing with this WOE is that you can eat when hungry so when you do get hungry eat.

It means it's time to eat, JediChick! FAT is your FRIEND!!!

By the way, I eat every 2-3 hours and NEVER get hungry.

Good points..keep some LC snacks nearby and have one mid-morning and mid-afternoon to keep from "overeating" at meals.

Eat more at your fat and protein at those meals. No need to snack, with apologies to Carolyn, of course.

2002 Atkins Induction is 20 net carbs a day.
If you've finished Induction and moved to OWL, then it's 25 net carbs a day.
Are you sure you're counting properly?
And... if you're hungry, eat!
And... make sure you're getting enough water. Often what we think is hunger is thirst.

so true---
are you having a good breakfast----eggs, omelets, last nights pot roast???---a real good hearty breakfast is the way to go
You could be using a processed food that has hidden ingredients.

I agree with everyone else...you're likely not eating enough fat and/or protein at your meal. And if you are hungry before mealtime, eat!
I'm not one that agrees with eating every few hours, I think it's best to have larger meals well spaced. But if you're hungry, eat.

Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. I'm very careful so I don't think I'm ingesting hidden carbs. I knew I was still in ketosis.
I'm going to break up my meals so that I eat maybe 5 times a day instead of three.

Good work, JediChick.
Only two causes I know of--
1. True hunger. (Eat more fat and meat. As much as you need to feel FULLY satisfied. There is no reason to restrict on this plan. It's not a diet; it's no-deprivation, luxurious WOE for life.)
2. False hunger/blood sugar fluctuation. (Double check everything. Very important to measure/count: heavy cream, cheese, eggs, veggies.)
You'll track it down!

And are you sure you're eating enough?
I used to have this sour cream from a take-away joint, but I was having a 'reaction'.
I put 2 and 2 together and came up with: added sugar to his special recipe.
