I have a Drs appointment at 10am this Morning to try and see if My Dr can convince the insurance company that I really need MLD treatment for My Legs.

They have refused to pay for any treatments and this is the only thing that will help My Legs go down I cannot even use any kind of compression without some treatment and it is a total catch-22 thing going on.

I am also having major Heal pain and I think I have Plantar Fasciitis so I am hoping My Dr can do something because right now it is getting really hard to walk and exercise and without exercise I do not lose.

My prayers are with you, Jann. I have a friend with Lymphedema and her insurance wouldn't cover MLD either. Sad that they wouldn't cover it, if it's needed.

I am not sure what MLD is but I hope you can get it.
Sometimes insurance companies really hurt people, and not providing what they should.

How was your appointment?

Sorry I did not get back in here yesterday. Well I have Heel Spurs and have to go to the Foot and ankle center next week to see what they can do.

I talked to My Dr about how frustrated I was about the Catch-22 thing with the Lymphedema he said that he would really try to push for some MLD treatments. My Dr admits he knows nothing about Lymphedema I am his only Patient with it I use to work at this Office as an MA so I do know everyone there well.

Dr E also surprised me with a a script for a Mammogram when he saw it was My Bday this week. I went today to get it over with not as bad as I thought it would be but hard standing on My Sore feet LOL

I am also going in for Blood work on Tuesday I am lucky that My Dr totally supports Low Carb and he and his Wife both maintain on Atkins

Can you learn to do the massage your self?

If there is no cure, it seems unfair that the insurance wont pay for it, if there isn't much ways to treat it.

Sandi, You can learn it yourself but it is easier to have someone do it and I just have no one to help me with it. My Mother lives with me but she will not even try so I just do not bother asking any more.
I agree you wold think the insurance would want to do something that would save them money but as I leaned working in a Dr's office they never look at the long term.

If we lived closer I would learn it to help you!!
Its sad about the insurance companies.
