I left you a message at your blog too! wink.gif

And as for your "lord's prayer" post.. it's so true... when we actually pay attention to what the words in that prayer mean!
PrettyPaula
thankyou Deni, its the prayer i most often come back to. I'm catholic, my whole family is, and it has always been a central prayer in our family gatherings at church.

smile.gif i just wish i could change the bread part wink.gif

Paula, as for your diet, the calories look AWESOME as long as you are losing weight. And your fat/protein/carb ratio is superb, too:

50/43/7

BEAUTIFUL JOB!!! Just be careful with cheese early on when you are just getting started. Let us know your progress! biggrin.gif
OceanBlue
Hi Paula. Thanks for popping in over in my journal! From one Catholic to another, thanks for the refresher on The Lord's Prayer. I say it 2x per week in mass and have gotten in the habit of just saying it and haven't been paying attention to what I was saying.

If you are doing Atkins, come visit us in the Atkins forum. There are some people over there who know so much. Your knowledge is welcome too. I'll take all I can get right now. biggrin.gif

Glad you're here. Stick around. This is THE place to be. It is happy and light here. smile.gif
EtheralKim
Hey Beautiful Paula!

yes do be careful with the cheese it can stall some or make you crave food. Well For me I am a cheese addict and need to be careful. *wink*

Looks good to me!
Minimimi
Hello Pretty, Pretty Paula!

Amy tongue.gif
PrettyPaula
Hey mimi!!! thanks for stopping by... good to see you too and i remember you!

hanks to everyone for the kind words, i dont think i will have an issue with cheese, i tend to buy VERY strong cheeses so i cant eat more than a tiny bit anyway... its never stalled me before so will have to see!

I just tested my strips... PINK!!! we have PINK!! woohoo!
Jimmy Moore
Pink is good!!! Remember, ketosis is like being pregnant. You either are or you aren't...there's no in between. biggrin.gif
Becky
I'm so glad you're here, Paula. i commented on your blog.
PrettyPaula
thankyou becky, jimmy i love how interested you are in everyone. its so nice!

my gosh i am BLOATED. TOM is here with a vengeance... it amazes me how much my abdomen swells up and becomes hard... men dont know how easy they have it!
Jimmy Moore
Dang, I hate my TOM, too! Tell him to go away! ohmy.gif

I have to confess to being distracted sometimes at mass by speculating whether the doctrine of transubstantiation means that the wafer counts as protein instead of carbs. (I'm Anglo-Catholic, married to a lapsed Catholic who is torn between feeling that Anglicans don't really count, and not wanting to admit that he finds it sort of comforting that someone's doing all the old familiar stuff laugh.gif)

I'm English, too smile.gif.
PrettyPaula
hey liz, where are u based then?

hahaha i actually have stopped taking full mass for the time being, its been too long since i last confessed, i cross my arms to take blessing instead.

i know i know, im a bad catholic. unsure.gif
Liz
I'm in the South West now (I don't like being too detailed on public boards), but was born in Lancashire, and grew up in Cheshire, and most of my family are still in the north.
EtheralKim
If your craving bread get some GG Scandanavian Crisp Bread.

They are like big crackers that you can make sandwiches with or top with whatever you like and they are 0 net carbs. I Love them they are all fiber and bran pretty much.
I get them at whole foods.
Jimmy Moore
I love those, Kim! Get enough for all of us! biggrin.gif
PrettyPaula
my weight jumped up again today, im sure itll sort itself out...

im in ketosis so i guess this is normal when changing plans?

im really feeling the water retention right now from TOM. I'll be glad in 4 days when its gone for another month!

Back to work tomorrow at work all week then i have a weeks holiday booked, so that will be nice, im not going anywhere, maybe get my hair done, my nails, treat myself a little bit, get my back to school shopping done for university.

ive joined facebook recently and have gotten back in touch with my OLD best friends from school... its pretty weird, im going to be meeting up with them soon and i guess im worrying about not being thin.

i never have been the whole time theyve known me, at least now i dont have a perm, braces and no boobs right? *sigh*

runnergirl
You're really doing great with your menus Paula!

biggrin.gif
Jimmy Moore
Don't worry about the scale not moving yet. IT WILL! Give you body time to adjust. Your calories are AWESOME as is your fat intake. SUPERB JOB, Paula!

As for your fat/protein/carbs ratio, it is: 52/39/9

PERFECT!!! Your losses are coming!
melodiegale
Hey Paula,

Just wanted to poke my head in and say "Hi". This is off the subject but I love your country. London is beautiful (but very expensive), and I hope to see more of your country soon. Have a great rest of the weekend.
PrettyPaula
Hey everyone

Thanks Julie, so glad you are over here ya know!

Thankyou Jimmy, how do you work those ratios out so simply?? im useless at maths!

Melodie, England is beautiful, london is great but doesnt represent england enough imo... next time you should visit the peak district, the derbyshire dales or the national forest (which includes sherwood forest) it is truly beautiful!!

smile.gif
Jimmy Moore
I was an English/Poli Sci major in college, but math was a fun subject. The calculations are simple:

Add FAT, PROTEIN, and CARBS together to get your total. Then divide that total number into each one individually to get your ratios.

For example, let's say you had 60g fat, 30g protein, and 10g carbs in your daily menu. First, add up the three numbers (100) and then divide the 60, 30, and 10 individually into 100. What you get is .60 for FAT, .30 for PROTEIN, and .10 for CARBS.

That would be a ratio of 60/30/10.

Make sense? biggrin.gif
melodiegale
Yeah, I've been to London twice always on the way to Italy or somewhere like that, but I'd like to make a trip to just see the U.K. I guess it would be like saying New York City represents the U.S. It does in a way but just one facet. I really cannot believe how huge London is. It took us 3 hrs just to go by bus from Heathrow to Luton (I think that's the name) airport to catch another plane. I've seen most of the tourist stuff in London, but when I travel I really just like to get into the culture and do what the locals do.
PrettyPaula
Same here Melodie... i love Rome but felt it was so touristy in places.

I plan to get over to the states again next year and bring my fiance, hes never been and we're gonna do the deep south i think biggrin.gif
melodiegale
You will love it down here. I live in Atlanta and it's a great place. We call it a big little town because even though we are over 4 million in the metro area, everybody seems to know everybody else. Let me know when you are coming. Lots and lots of sunshine and some beautiful white sugar sand beaches about 350 miles South of here (Florida panhandle).

Northern Italy is about my favorite place on the planet along the Med. So beautiful and such a laid back way of life. The food is awesome and not as heavy as what we Americans have come to think of as Italian food. Your train system is great over there for getting around from place to place. Dh and I always buy Eurail passes and backpacks and just go.
OceanBlue
Hi Paula. Just wanted stop by and say "hi". user posted image

I hope everything is going well for you.

When you come over, in your tour of the deep south, if you make over to Texas let me know. We can treat ya to a real Texas BBQ. You know, the kind with beef. Not like those other places that think pork is a real BBQ. laugh.gif

PrettyPaula
we definately wanna go to texas!!!

Im still at 191.6 today, but last night my stix went dark purple... this morning i have ZERO appetite.

So today was the day i do my measurements... GULP... theyre pretty good...

Place-------Start in "----------NOW
Neck-------14.3"---------------14"
Bicep-------13"-----------------11.7"
Forearm----10"----------------9.5"
Chest------42.5"---------------41"
Waist-------36"-----------------34"
Hips--------46"-----------------43.5"
Thigh------28.5"----------------26.5"
Calf--------17"------------------16"

in total ive lost 11.1 inches so far... thats pretty good i think!
i seem to be losing fairly equally all over which is good... i dont expect much of a change on my chest as there isnt any fat there, any change is from my back not the front wink.gif
Vernswifevickie
Hey Paula! I think 11.1 inches is GREAT!
melodiegale
Congrats on the inches. I think it tells a much better story than the scale. Keep up the good work!
runnergirl
Congrats on the inches lost Paula! You are doing great!
Thinmint
Hey Paula,

Congratulations on 11 inches lost, that is great. I'm too chicken to do my measurements because it depresses me more than the scale. Keep up the great work.
Awakened
Paula... thanks for the reminder to measure again!!!

I haven't measured in a long time.. It'll probably be up some.. but I have to do it don't I!
runnergirl
Hey Paula,

How's everything going?

biggrin.gif

Paula... you've been quiet for a few days now... everything okay?

If there is anything you object to (I don't think there would be), please let me know and I will correct.

PrettyPaula
i really dislike singinglass' attitude.

ive been hella busy with work... im so ridiculously tired... but i love making everything run better there, even though im part time i feel so invaluable when im there.

i went to the gym to, im still sore 2 days later sad.gif no weight loss, in fact slight gain... im in ketosis and on plan, little bit confused. huh.gif

im drinking loads, have cut out cream and cheese to.. see what happens.

loads of stuff has been happening with the british economy... its all getting a bit weird, i think we *may* be headin for a recession in the next 5 years...

Ive been given an amazing opportunity to go into a school in the next couple of weeks to give a talk about T Mobile to some business studies students (aged like 15) which will be great on my CV (resume!) for my teaching in the future... cant wait to start back at university now i am SO bored mad.gif
