Hi Paula. Thanks for popping in over in my journal! From one Catholic to another, thanks for the refresher on The Lord's Prayer. I say it 2x per week in mass and have gotten in the habit of just saying it and haven't been paying attention to what I was saying.
If you are doing Atkins, come visit us in the Atkins forum. There are some people over there who know so much. Your knowledge is welcome too. I'll take all I can get right now.
Glad you're here. Stick around. This is THE place to be. It is happy and light here.

I have to confess to being distracted sometimes at mass by speculating whether the doctrine of transubstantiation means that the wafer counts as protein instead of carbs. (I'm Anglo-Catholic, married to a lapsed Catholic who is torn between feeling that Anglicans don't really count, and not wanting to admit that he finds it sort of comforting that someone's doing all the old familiar stuff

)
I'm English, too

hey liz, where are u based then?
hahaha i actually have stopped taking full mass for the time being, its been too long since i last confessed, i cross my arms to take blessing instead.
i know i know, im a bad catholic.
I'm in the South West now (I don't like being too detailed on public boards), but was born in Lancashire, and grew up in Cheshire, and most of my family are still in the north.

If your craving bread get some GG Scandanavian Crisp Bread.
They are like big crackers that you can make sandwiches with or top with whatever you like and they are 0 net carbs. I Love them they are all fiber and bran pretty much.
I get them at whole foods.

Hey everyone
Thanks Julie, so glad you are over here ya know!
Thankyou Jimmy, how do you work those ratios out so simply?? im useless at maths!
Melodie, England is beautiful, london is great but doesnt represent england enough imo... next time you should visit the peak district, the derbyshire dales or the national forest (which includes sherwood forest) it is truly beautiful!!
Jimmy Moore

I was an English/Poli Sci major in college, but math was a fun subject. The calculations are simple:
Add FAT, PROTEIN, and CARBS together to get your total. Then divide that total number into each one individually to get your ratios.
For example, let's say you had 60g fat, 30g protein, and 10g carbs in your daily menu. First, add up the three numbers (100) and then divide the 60, 30, and 10 individually into 100. What you get is .60 for FAT, .30 for PROTEIN, and .10 for CARBS.
That would be a ratio of 60/30/10.
Make sense?

Yeah, I've been to London twice always on the way to Italy or somewhere like that, but I'd like to make a trip to just see the U.K. I guess it would be like saying New York City represents the U.S. It does in a way but just one facet. I really cannot believe how huge London is. It took us 3 hrs just to go by bus from Heathrow to Luton (I think that's the name) airport to catch another plane. I've seen most of the tourist stuff in London, but when I travel I really just like to get into the culture and do what the locals do.

Same here Melodie... i love Rome but felt it was so touristy in places.
I plan to get over to the states again next year and bring my fiance, hes never been and we're gonna do the deep south i think

You will love it down here. I live in Atlanta and it's a great place. We call it a big little town because even though we are over 4 million in the metro area, everybody seems to know everybody else. Let me know when you are coming. Lots and lots of sunshine and some beautiful white sugar sand beaches about 350 miles South of here (Florida panhandle).
Northern Italy is about my favorite place on the planet along the Med. So beautiful and such a laid back way of life. The food is awesome and not as heavy as what we Americans have come to think of as Italian food. Your train system is great over there for getting around from place to place. Dh and I always buy Eurail passes and backpacks and just go.

Hi Paula. Just wanted stop by and say "hi".

I hope everything is going well for you.
When you come over, in your tour of the deep south, if you make over to Texas let me know. We can treat ya to a real Texas BBQ. You know, the kind with beef. Not like those
other places that think
pork is a real BBQ.
PrettyPaula
Sep 17 2007, 4:57am
we definately wanna go to texas!!!
Im still at 191.6 today, but last night my stix went dark purple... this morning i have ZERO appetite.
So today was the day i do my measurements... GULP... theyre pretty good...
Place-------Start in "----------NOW
Neck-------14.3"---------------14"
Bicep-------13"-----------------11.7"
Forearm----10"----------------9.5"
Chest------42.5"---------------41"
Waist-------36"-----------------34"
Hips--------46"-----------------43.5"
Thigh------28.5"----------------26.5"
Calf--------17"------------------16"
in total ive lost 11.1 inches so far... thats pretty good i think!
i seem to be losing fairly equally all over which is good... i dont expect much of a change on my chest as there isnt any fat there, any change is from my back not the front
