Well, I did it. Tonight I left Kimkins. I was the originator of the thread of this same name over there. I had a great group of people on that thread. I am hoping that they will follow me over here to this place. We need each other to tackle the road ahead of us. I know that I need them just as much.
My name is Sue and I started on Kimkins in March weighing 432 pounds. Today I am at 362 and have lost 70 pounds. It is my last chance to lose this weight and now I am going to have to learn Atkins I think. But, regardless of what lies ahead, I am hoping that all of us can do this together. Helping each other along the way. Laughing with each other and crying with each other. Cheering each other on all the way to goal.
So if you have 200+ to lose or just 20+ EVERYONE is welcome here!

Sue,
Congrats and welcome to our group. 70 lbs. is a good healthy start on your journey. From what I hear things are starting to crumble over there, so hopefully you will be having your friends join you here on this newly resurrected thread. Good luck on your journey! If you need anything just let me know.

Hey Sue, I just saw Robin when reading some other posts. It will take me a while to figure this place out. I now have to figure out how to get my pictures on here as well as a weight ticker. Maybe you can help. I hope some of the other come here too. Until they do I will probably go back and forth. I also saw a post from Pat in Mich.

Hey Sue and Nanatoot! Welcome and make yourself at home here. It's good to see you guys again and I hope you look around and get comfy. We have a great group of people here who will support you in your efforts to lose 200+ pounds. YOU CAN DO IT!
Nanatoot, getting a picture and weight loss ticker in your signature is pretty easy as long as you have the link to those readily available. In your signature edit mode, simply click on the IMG button and paste the links to your pics and tickers. EASY PEASY!

Thanks Jimmy for letting me start my group over here. I am hoping to see more of them soon!
Renee, I am going to email Robin and let her know about the move to here. It will be good to have her back in the group again.
Welcome Dave!!! Hope to see you stop by often!!
Melody thanks for the welcome and I will cerainly give you a shout if I need help!
O.K. I have not gotten on the scale. Kind of scared to since I have upped my carbs a bit. Plus, I do not know how to do the Atkins yet. I am just being sure that my carbs are mostly veggies, some cheese and leaving it at that for right now. As soon as my Atkins book gets here I am going to have to try to read that in a day so as to get going on a plan. I do not want to sabaotage hat I have already accomplished.
I have to admit that lately i was having episodes of dissiness, blurred vision and I could not seem to eat. That was starting to scare me. I started adding a few things to me diet and I was able to bring myself out of it. So no more very low calories for me any more. I have learned my lesson.
Well, I am outta here. So much to do and so little time to do it. I have an interview tomorrow. I am hoping that it will turn out well for me. Not as many hours as I hoped, but, I am sure once I get in there that will change. The lady as very impressed with my qualifications and that is certainly a plus for me.
Later people and I hope everyone has a good food day!

Buzzy, Count me in. I spent the summer traveling with my kids on vacation and between that and ending KK, I put on nearly 20 pounds. Oh my. Oh well, I have started on Atkins again and I know checking into any thread you have started will provide me the encouragement I need to get the scale going down again. Good luck with your transition from KK to the plan of your choice. There is a lot of information on this forum and Jimmy's blog and the blog Weight of the Evidence by Regina Wilshire are also good sources of information. Welcome. Oh, and since Becky's thread has a party every night, maybe we can have one too.. I hope to see many more join us here.

O.K. I have an interview tomorrow. I am getting nervous. I have not had an interview for a very long time now. None when I was 432 and now at 362 I have that "fat" mindset still that they will not want me once they see me. I have got to get that out of my head. After all, I know this lady knows who I am for heavens sake. I don't take rejection well. And, I can't let it go like some can either. *sigh* Losing the weight is hard enough. But, I think losing all the "fat" thinking is harder than the weight. Well, I need to go rummage through the closet and figure out what to where. Thankfully, I do have a pair of smaller slacks that will fit me now so I won't be going in with droopy drawers on!

Buzzy, congrats on the weight you've lost so far. You are SO gonna conquer this and hit your personal goal. Having hacked Kimkins since March, Atkins or any of the other low carb plans will seem like a totally indulgent high-carb pigout by comparison.
Hi everyone,
This is ChrisTina from the KK 200+ support forum. I joined this site and a few other low-carb forums with this user name. I'm still a member over there, but was only staying for the 200+ support forum and the halloween challenge. I haven't been doing KK, for awhile, to be honest. I've been doing more fat and carbs and am still losing weight! I ate a baked potato last nite and even lost weight! Woohoo! Those will be a rare treat, though! I read DANDR and I'm in the process of reading Protein Power. Well, I'm off to browse some! Thanks Sue! Hi Nanatoot! Someone else I recognize!

Hugs,

Hi ChrisTina and Kellee!
Well I just about have my signature complete with a few changes. I got so used to seeing the ticker I have to have it.
Sue- Good luck on your interview. I know that you will do well.
I went to the Vera Bradley sale today and had a ball. My friend and I shopped until we dropped.
Also my newest niece was born this afternoon. Her name is Ashby Caroline and she weighed 7.1 lbs. and was 19.1 inches long. I can't wait to go see her tomorrow.
Sue what is the status of some of the other ladies from the other forum. I hope more come this way because I don't want to lose touch. I will probably still post there as well so that we don't lose touch.

OMG! Hello everyone--big (((((((((((hugs!)))))))))))))))) I'm so glad to see you all! I had told Sue many weeks ago that I had to leave due to my growing discomfort with things going on. . .boy, I never imagined it would come to what it has!
I had wanted to post each week to the group at KK and let you know my feelings, but to be quite honest, I couldn't risk having my email, personal life, etc tracked and recorded, etc! I didn't want to be on her radar screen! But, I prayed for all of you!
Now, look at us!!
Yipee!
Sue, I've had trouble with blurred vision for a month now, and I'm trying to really embrace Atkins--I'm so stuck on the K/E way of thinking and I almost think I'm brainwashed! ACK! I've also avoided the scale the last couple of weeks.
I know part of it is loosing the support group aspect of my weight loss--but now, I think things will change!
Thanks so much for keeping in touch! Let me know what I can do to help--I still have access at KK and I try to lurk every once in while--but . . still weird!! Anyway, I also asked for refund and was rudely told that I had gotten the information and I was still logged in--well, yeah, that's how I had to communicate--she said no refund--ack!
Oh well--it was worth it to meet all of you and to be a part of something greater than myself!
Ahh. . .let's move on to WEIGHT shedding!! hehe!

BTW--I have one birthday wish for anyone praying . . . I would like to get on the scale next Saturday (Sept 22nd--my bday!) and reach THREEDOMVILLE!
Since I haven't weighed for a couple of weeks, I'm gonna hold off and see what happens--I believe in miracles and I believe in persistence!
I WILL (I repeat!) I WILL reach THREEDOMVILLE for my 44th birthday!
Okay . . .where's my water bottle??

Hi Everyone!
Well I'm spending some time today learning more about Atkins. I tried the program in the past & had success in the first two weeks but then I'd always add too much fat back into my plan. I agree we need fat in our diet but when I get a LITTLE fat... I tend to like ALOT more. So this will be a challenge for me to figure out how to add healthy fats to my plan without eating a half a pound of bacon. LOL I'm up for the challenge, though... & looking forward to hearing how each of you will work your plan.
Jimmy...as you can see...I love kittens, too! LOL. I have a 2 yr old, short-haired tabby cat named Samantha. She is my baby LOL. This is my first cat & sometimes I can't believe how attached I am to her. She is a cutie & she is sooo much company! Do you have any animals?
Sue...Sending positive thoughts to you as prepare for your interview today. :-)
Thanks for the welcome ChrisTina. I'm so glad you are here with us.
Robin...so glad you are back with the group. I'm excited to see you reach your goal for your birthday....what an exciting month for you!
Welcome Jodi..it's good to see you here, too.
Renee...glad you had fun shopping it sounds like you had a great day. Congratulations on the birth of your niece. I love her name...very elegant.
Wishing everyone a healthy, positive day! Take care...

O.K...............BIG news!!! I GOT THE JOB!!!!!! I am sooooo happy! I start next week and I am hopingit will work into enough hours that I can quit the cleaning job. Right now I am going to be doing double duty I guess. I don't care though!!
Well, when I was at KK's the last week, I had gained about 14 pounds. Well, I have been doing Atkins (to thebest of my ability) for the last 3 days and today I was 4 pounds down from that gain. *whew* I was a bit scared when I saw that gain. But, now I am fine. And I feel like a pig with all the extra calories, but, I have noticed that I get full quicker with the extra.
Anyway......it is a beautiful day in my neighborhood and I am so happy!!! (oops...channelling Mr. Rogers....

Aaah, familiar faces....and in one place. I'm still navigating the boards/forums/threads...not sure what the real name is...but I'm tracking this one. Only one thing, I wish it e-mailed the entire message instead of it just saying something was posted....maybe it does and I just don't know how! It's good to see so many, and I hope we see more as the days go by and new members that had nothing to do with Kimkins. I'm officially trying Atkins now....Jimmy and someone named Linda have great menus posted...Linda also had a slew of recipes that look yummy. I know I'm going to have to change my mind set though...some of them are very high calories....and they are induction menus! I've got to find what is going to work for me but already I'm thrilled with having vegetables for the last two days! Thanks for starting this thread Sue....welcome to all who have 200 or more or less to lose!

Hi Everyone,
Well I guess I have know for a while that I needed to leave Kimkins but just didn't know where to go. Thanks Sue for creating what I am sure is going to be another great thread. I am glad that I have found all of you guys, because I know that is your support that I have gotten as far as I have.
Looking forward to getting to know the new people here and connect with my old friends from the "other" place.
Thanks Jimmy for being so kind and giving us a new home.
Now I just need to figure out what plan I should do to keep losing. Is everyone here on Atkins? Or what? Where do I go to figure out what is best for me?
Again, glad to be in our new home.
