I was in the grocery store with nothing better to do than look at the tabloids. I noticed the recent issue of the National Enquirer has a cover story about too skinny and too fat. Of course, there is a picture of Tyra Banks with the caption that she has packed on 30 lbs. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the picture on the internet.
Anyone who can look at that picture and say she's fat is either blind or incredibly STUPID!!
I loved her earlier response, "Kiss my big fat *ss." Go Tyra!!!!
Full Version: Bashing Tyra Banks again
I saw that magazine in the checkout yesterday too. It was obvious that they pasted Tyra's head on that body. The proportion was all wrong.
Yeah, I blogged about the "Tyra Banks Is Fat" saga earlier this year and it's so laughable. She's better looking than most women SMALLER than her! I LOVE her attitude about it, too!
I saw that too, and thought she looked boodielicious just the way she is!
People seem very Jealous of her.
Perhaps it was because she was a model, and she dared to re-invent herself with the talk show etc.
From what I see, she has a good heart.

I saw the tabloid as well and just shook my head.
I think jealousy does play a large part. People love to believe the "mighty" have fallen....especially when they're the ones who elevated them in the first place. Take that whole Britney Spears thing as an example. I'm not a fan and don't listen to her music but when the "critics" came out this week and called her fat, I just about blew a gasket. She's not a hardbody anymore and there's nothing wrong with that. Critique her horrible performance if you want but don't pile on because she's not spending 4 hours a day in the gym and wearing a size zero.

Even if it is a cut & paste job, no one can tell me that THAT BODY is fat.
Taoschick, I agree with you about Brittney Spears. If she's fat, I'm the Easter Bunny. I don't listen to her music, but she's NOT FAT.
A woman goes from being super-skinny, boardering on anorexic, to normal size and she's called fat. What are we coming to??????
I for one know the dangers of being obese as I wrecked my health big time. However, society has gone overboard in the other direction to the point of jeopardizing health in other ways.
Yeah, compared to what she WAS, Britney Spears is certainly larger. But she's had two kids, an annulment and divorce, and a virtual mental breakdown over the past couple of years--so she's allowed to put on a few pounds. It's just such a shame our culture has degraded to this level of immaturity about image.

I was watching on one of the news channels about the Britney thing and one of the female guests made a great observation IMHO...She said that the men for the most part don't have a problem and think she looks great. It is the women, catty as we can be, that make the big stink. I thought it was a good point.
What's funny is she actually looks "normal" and not CRAZY skinny now. VERY nice!
I WISH I looked like that after back to back babies. That child is nowhere near fat. My kids are 10 months apart and my body was about three of hers.
As far as Tyra...she is FIERCE! The best role model for our girls. She is beautiful and healthy...not stick skinny. I tell my daughter that she is Tyra and J-LO. A healthy body is more attractive than a bone.

How sad............right now I am trying to be as fat as Britney I am still holding on the baby pregnacy weight.......ok can i still use that excuse when baby is 14 YEARS old!!

Yes you can use that excuse...I did! My "baby" is 15 years old and I finally got that baby weight off!
Jimmy...I try to instill a healthy body image in my children. All those bone-like celebrities out there makes it hard. My daughter looks at people like Victoria Beckham, the Olsen Twins, and the new America's Top Model Jasleen (that child needs a carb or two in her diet) and she wants to look like them. It is hard to explain something like body type and genetics to a 15 year old who thinks 115 pounds is fat. My daughter exercises with me and she eats lots of vegetables and protein. I don't have her low carbing (she drinks whole milk and eats whole grain products) but I am teaching her how to eat healthy and how to look healthy. I don't want my child going through what I did as a teenager in the 1980's. I look at myself in pictures from back then and I wonder what drug I was on because I surely wasn't fat...I just thought I was.
Thank God my child is a budding photographer and she knows that the majority of pictures out there are photoshopped. Even Tyra's pics are photoshopped. She understands that what she is seeing is not what they really look like. I just need to get her to understand that she isn't fat...just really fine!
