Do you ever overeat or eat when you're not hungry? Even if it's low carb foods like cheese or chicken or something?

I know we shouldn't eat when we're not hungry but sometimes I just want a snack or something. I suppose that I eventually have to learn to stop unnecessary snacking. Right now I find comfort in knowing I can pick at something satisfying and delicious.

I still overeat occasionally, but not like I used to. Its taking time, but very low carb eating has changed some of my bad eating habits.

I still stress eat, but I am much more aware of it. I observe it without judgement in a bhuddist sort of way. "Oh look, I'm eating cashews and cruising the cupboards--and would mainline chocolate if I had any--because I'm upset about the Jerry Springer-like drama unfolding around my kid's babysitter...and how is this affecting my kids?"

Yes, I do sometimes. I'm still new at this (4 days in, woohoo!) so I'm still sort of testing the waters (i.e. seeing what I can "get away with.") It's very different from carb cravings, though, and if I find I need to cut back a bit, I have no doubt I'll be able to do that.

Yes, I still do. It is more of a descision that I make because I am in the mood than a craving or response to emotions like it used to. I can stop when I want to and control the foods I am eating. I do notice that I now have a shut off button now that I didn't used to. My body will now tell me it has had enough when I have had enough fat.

Since June 2007, I've only allowed myself one day to eat anything I wanted. I was frightened, tremendously, by it becuase I was able to "pack it away." When I think back, I, actually, ate one meal off low carb. I didn't binge that day. I didn't graze all day. DH and I went out and ate Mexican cuisine (I cleaned my plate). When I got home, I topped it off with "lots" of ice cream.

I agree with Hilary about having control. I don't have that mind set of "I'll start my diet again tomorrow." Now, my self talk is, "Okay, I got away with it today, but tomorrow I'm going to be sick, if I keep this up."

I feel GREAT! I don't ever, ever, ever want to go back to the "way I was."

Oh yeah. It's all there just lurking under the surface to catch me unaware! Still have all the same issues of eating due to stress, because I'm bored, just want to pick BUT now at least I pig out during those times on healthy stuff - so I may have over eaten and feel full and miserable BUT at least it's not corn chips and ice cream like the old days. I don't think it affects me as much and I come to my sences much quicker. When I flood my body with carbs I think I go into a drug induced trance. wacko.gif

My sugar and carb cravings have subsided and I feel like I'm on an even keel. I think I have a fear of deprivation which is why I tend to reach for food even if I'm not hungry. I just don't want overeating - even if it's the right kinds of food - to interfere with my weight loss.

I only overeat when I've accidently eaten too many carbs. I recently had a half a piece of raisin toast at Waffle House and that really sent me off to the races. It must have been the raisins. I took me 2 full days to get past that one. As long as I am eating plenty of fat I actually have the opposite problem with not enough appetite.

Every Sunday. As much of whatever I want, all day long.
