Full Version: What is it about Atkins Products?
Low Carb Discussion Forum > All Things Livin' La Vida Low-Carb > What's Your Questions About Livin' La Vida Low-Carb?

I've been trying to avoid bars and shakes unless as a last resort, because I believe they stall me just like a lot of people on here. Since they don't have any sugar alcohols, what's in there that makes the scale stop?
Are the labels deceptive as to the actual amount of carbs?
Is it the soy,or something else?
Or is it the fact that they're still pretty condensed calories and the same amout of cal/fat/carbs would translate to a more filling snack if it was real food?
Any Theories?

Some of their bars do have sugar alcohols but it may also be the glycerin that's part of the stalling problem. It's the glycerin that adds a lot of the carbs to the count but for some reason they don't count them in the net carbs. There is some debate over where those carbs should count or not.

I don't count glycerin and neither does the Atkins company. But they can stall people just like sugar alcohols (maltitol especially) do.
