Hello, I'm a newbie and I'm a carb addict.

I have been low carbing since Dec. 31 of 2006. My starting weight was 298. current weight is 246. My goal is 150.

I am struggling to stay low carb as I am an emotional eater. Stress=food. Heaven knows I have been stressed this year! I am "off the wagon" yesterday and today, but as Scarlet said "Tomorrow is another day".

I do MUCH better when I plan meals in advance. That has been my downfall the last 2 months. I hearby resolve to PLAN AHEAD.

I am 43 years old, married, a mother and a nurse. I decided to try low carb when I ws told I needed bilateral knee replacements for severe arthritis. My blood pressure is elevated and my blood sugar was elevating. My lipids were elevated also. Not what I want for my self and my health. I am currently in a slump and need to get back on track both diet wise and health wise.

I resolve to make this a life change and not just a passing thing.

Today is the day I recommit. Scale this am said 248 and then called me a bunch of unpleasant names laugh.gif

I had eggs and sausage for breakfast and I have a salad all cut up and ready to go for lunch with tuna. I put pork chops with mushrooms and a cream sauce in the crockpot for dinner tonight. I have some cauliflower to steam or maybe some brussel sprouts.....decisons, decisions. I am trying to drink more water...flush out that fat!

I am working at the urgent care center until 3:00 then go to the developementally delayed group home until 6:30 or so. I work 1 full time and 2 part time jobs. I am working overtime this week. We are down 2 nursing positions and I am training a nurse so my job is much more stressful right now.

My mammogram is scheduled for Monday...I am only 10 months late. grrrrrr. I have physical therapy scheduled for Friday. I have a biceps tendonitis in my r shoulder. I am just about done with therapy, but I have had a set back this week. I was assigned several new exercizes and now I am very sore. I think I stirred something back up in my neck and shoulder. I already have limited activities due to the knee arthritis and fat and this did not help. I need to get back to the current pool and start walking and stretching again. My first time available will be Friday. It seems so far away. I love the pool and could stay there all day!

I am having difficulties with my sister....you could say we put the fun in dysfunctional. Let's just say that I will be spending Thanksgiving with just my husband and 2 children. Not my parents or sister and her family. At least this way I can control what I eat and what is available. I will be able to decorate the way I want and use my pretty china, crystal and china that I rarely have the chance to use.

I am hoping to paint my kitchen or utilty room this weekend. Now if I can just convince hubby that THIS is the weekend to do it.

Our anniversary is Monday...19 years. He wanted to go out for pasta and I convinced him we need to go to "The Fish House". I want a GOOD piece of fish! That is also where we had our first date. How romantic!

weight today was 247. Have my meals ready here at work. Have pork chops with sauerkraut in the crock pot...pork was on special at the store.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I am dressed as a cave dweller and I guess that it is appropriate! No grains in my diet yet! I have fruit snacks and teddy grahams in front of me and candy corn and apple cider in the break room. Hold steady girl there are flax muffins and pork rinds and taco salad for you!

Went swimming yesterday and it was wonderful. Only did a mile but I was worn out.

I stayed strong and did not eat any candy or drink apple cider. Weight is still at 247 and I feel like I am retaining tons of water.
