I was diagnosed by my doctor with IBS and she told me to cut out red meat, dairy and fat. I thought I might have to eat vegetarian but I had tried that before and it was not only boring but exacerbated my digestive problems. Finally I decided to see a new doctor and get a second opinion. I was never really satisfied with my old doctor anyway. Office visits were 5 minutes tops! And he never really seemed to listen to me. So I found another doctor and he listened and told me that my problem might be too MUCH fiber and told me to try cutting out all beans and anything with bran as well as cabbage. Well I did that and I am having less digestive upsets and no more pain. So it just goes to show that a second opinion is important. I am now trying to lose weight doing Atkins.

I have some trouble with IBS-type symptoms too, and they are much better since I started back on Atkins 2 weeks ago!
