Woo hoo!!! This is so exciting, isn't it?
I also emailed the story to Fox News, MSNBC, Today, Today Weekend, Dateline, and CNN. I'm hoping the natinoal media picks up on this.
I don't see why they wouldn't. It has all the makings of a great story.

"We are surprised that the extent of their investigation was to post information from the anti-Kimmer websites. We cannot make this any more plain that I am not Heidi. She and I have been friends since high school and when I began posting on the internet nearly 10 years ago I used Heidi. As I've mentioned, I also use other names when writing, particularly for men's magazines. Heidi is an owner of Kimkins.com and nothing more. How do I say this nicely? She doesn't "care" about Kimkins. Her interests are in other areas entirely. I did not trust Catherine (former partner) and Heidi stepped in as me. She has not seen the news clip but I will be seeing her this weekend.
The news clip me of the "diet review" done by About.com which also only parrots the anti-Kimmer blogs. No medical review. No impartiality. Hundreds of pro-Kimkins members wrote to Laura Dolson (who was impressed with their intelligence she told me), but didn't change her review at all.
Oh well, can't win them all.
The focus of Kimkins.com has always been about weight loss. We want to keep that focus. We've had 3 new success stories submitted this week and CONGRATS to those members! We'll have them up soon and thanks for your generosity in sharing to motivate others!
The Kimkins partners have formed a management group headed by Tippy Toes. All of the admins, partners, staff and I are hard at work behind the scenes making Kimkins a bigger and better site for our members. Tippy Toes has graciously accepted responsibility for coordinating everyone (when does that girl sleep) and she's doing a stellar job!
If anyone has questions, ask an admin! Danielle & Wannabefit2 are Kimkins staffers. We appreciate the enormous amount of time all admins donate to Kimkins members. They are extremely generous people.
We've got some exciting features to announce very soon -- all designed to help with life_style_ changes for permanent weight loss. Stay tuned!"
Just priceless...

There are 4 (gray) buttons on the page:

Click on news.
The video is the 2nd one on the list on the right hand side.
Just click on that and wait a couple of seconds...you should be able to watch and enjoy!!

The funny thing is that when this goes to court, everyone involved in the scam are going to have to come forward. What is Heidi Kimberly Diaz going to do then...trot in and out of the courtroom to change clothes and pretend she's someone else? The woman just needs to adjust the KFC bucket lodged on her head and start looking for legal defense, because by the time this all ends...that KFC bucket is gonna be the only pot she has left and she may need it to beg on the street corner!
edit: from Becky's site and most of the other blogs..Part 2 (tonight) should really be interesting.
Again...thank you to everyone involved in getting the word out to the public. I can't wait to hear that she is shut down for good!!!

Maybe she could do K/E, lose all the weight, and show up nice and thin.
But wait, she won't look like any of her after pictures.
Oh, and, um you will be able to tell by her facial features it's her.
And, of course, SHE CAN'T STICK TO THE DIET!!!!!

At the cost of being bashed...why does anyone
really care who what Heidi looks like...or even who she is????
The bottom line for me, is that after many failed diet attempts...this one, Kimkins, got me to drop 46 lbs, in 3 months...
astounding. I felt great,
if I didn't I made sure I took supplements, and upped my fat intake. One has to be responsible for one's self.
I feel that she has deceived everyone,
yes, but even if Kimmer was a non-existant entity...her diet helped me. I know I would never have gone the Atkins route again...I couldn't stick to it. Now, of corse, I am back in that direction, but I still keep my calories less than 1000. Not hungry, why eat????
I am sorry that Kimmer, Heidi, whatever, re-gained her weight. That is struggle we will all have to face sooner or later...and as those of us who have dieted in the past know...keeping the weight off, is the hardest journey of all!
I still have to thank the site, KK, and
all of those who were initially there to support me, Becky, Christin and others...for the weight I lost, and continue to lose!!

This just keeps getting more and more interesting!! I also noticed the gallon of whole milk in her cart! I figured she was getting it to go with her sugar cookies!!
Something that I thought of when I watched the newscast . . . from her before and after pics, there is realistically no way someone can lose 200 pounds and look that good in 11 months. When someone loses that much weight there will be loose skin and lines in the face. It may be possible to lose 200 pounds on K/E in 11 months, but her skin would not be that pretty! She would have to surgery to look that good and most doctors won't do surgery until at least 6 months after the weight loss. Of course, she would probably say that the picture of the lady in red was her after she maintained her weight loss for 5 years!!

Sascha, the point is that Kimmer's gray sweats pictures are very good advertisements for a diet that just doesn't work long-term.
There is nothing special about Kimkins. With various different names, it's been used for decades.
Very-low calories definitely works. Starvation works really well for weight loss. (It's not the most efficient for fat loss.)
But, just like safer not-quite-so-low calorie diets, starvation and deprivation just don't work well long-term. How you lose is how you maintain--or, sooner or later, don't maintain.
If Kimmer ever actually lost the weight, she gained it all back plus more. But that's to be expected: research shows that this is what happens with this type of diet, time and time again.
Many of us can point to a slightly freaky low-calorie deprivation diet, not as the end of our weight problems, but as the beginning.
Low-calorie diets are simply not a sound, long-term treatment for obesity. Starvation works in the short-term but long-term, not so much. (Unless it does work long-term, in which case the side effects can be quite significant and sometimes terminal.)
Eventually most people get tired of restricting and eating abnormally. Eventually most people go back to eating what they miss most. And they go back to a full plate with a much slower metabolism and the long-term restriction causes the release of large amounts of hormones that predispose them to very rapid weight gain.
Kimmer (the large version) is a very good advertisement for Kimkins, actually. It's possible to reach the red dress on Kimkins (looking a lot less vibrant, typically), but with Kimkins the gray sweats are out there in the future.
No matter where a person is on the Kimkins roller-coaster, it's possible to get off now and buy a ticket on the luxury cruise that is the delicious, highly nutritious, very satisfying low-carb way of life.
Eating LITTLE can take away hunger, sure, but eating WELL really satisfies and nourishes our bodies.

Sascha --
It matters because Kimmer made herself the poster child for her own diet. Remember, her website advertised that she had lost 198# in 11 months and maintained a weight of 118# for years. If she didn't want to be exposed to public scrutiny, she shouldn't have held herself up as the model. Jenny Craig has a diet named after her, but she doesn't hold herself up as the model, either. . .
If Kimkins worked for you without any ill effects, that's great -- but most people suffered significant damage. I personally experienced hair loss, brittle nails, painfully dry skin, nausea, fatigue. . . and I didn't follow Kimkins for that long. Christin lost her weight, but six months later she is having a cardiac ultrasound to make sure that she didn't damage her heart! Deni is having a battery of tests run to see if she did herself permanent damage or not. The fact is, the human body is incredibly resiliant -- but will only tolerate so much abuse. . . and Kimkins, as written, is abuse. Basic KK is unhealthy, K/E and Boot Camp were worse! Compounding the problem was the fact that dieters who asked about things like hair loss, fatigue, etc., were told that these were all normal and harmless, and nausea was given a catchy little acronym (SNATT) and held up as a sure sign you were doing things right!
The claims about the diet being doctor-approved are also fraudulent, and those claims lull a lot of people into thinking that any "normal" (as defined by those on the same roller coaster) side effects can be ignored -- which is why Christin didn't consult a doctor sooner. She did the diet as written, and when she asked about things like hair loss, was told it was normal and everything was fine. So yeah, people should be responsible for their own well-being; but lying about what's healthy and normal and what isn't, and hiding behind a "doctor-approved" label is fraud.
Congratulations on your weight loss, and I hope you continue to see good results and good health -- but Kimkins as written is not exactly a recipe for long-term health. . .
Again, congrats!

Valerie and Sara, Very well said!
I can remember trying that vegetable soup diet, remember that one? Very low cal, and Oh the gas! Then there was one where I was supposed to eat only pineapple one day. Made my gums bleed. Then there was the Fen-phen debaucle. I was prescribed that on a doctor approved program where I was supposed to consume around 500 cals a day.
You're right Valerie. It's nothing new. And yes KK worked for me with some of the side effects. But I think that's why so many of us are here now. I lost 65 # and DESPERATELY don't ever want to gain it back again, and want to lose the rest on a healthy path. One CANNOT continue on that plan as written without experiencing terrible health problems, and even if you'd reach gaol, what then? How would you keep it off?
I am so glad to see it getting major exposure and hope that it shuts her down!

If you increased your fat intake, you weren't following Kimkins.
That's the problem. Following her diet by the book long term just isn't healthy. Can you imagine doing strict Kimkins for a year? Take a good look at Heidi. She can't even follow her own diet.

That is exactly what I was going to post. That for those that were knowledgable enough they tweaked it with no problems. But many people do not and believed they could follow the diet with no problems.

While handing out really, really bad dietary advice!
That's what makes it so heinous. She took a good plan (low carb) and twisted it to appeal to the low fat mantra and then threw in the low calorie bit to appease the "all calories are the same" crowd.
She basically played on fear mongering from the media and dietitians while trying to pretend it was really just a healthy low carb plan.
Just another sociopath trying to make a buck.

C'mon Sascha....
It's time to wake up and admit to yourself that she's a fraud. Check out Kimkins Dangers and Kimkins Exposed for up to the minute lies and deception. They have proven another success story woman is infact a russian mail order bride with absolute proof and now Heidi Kimberly Kimmer Drake Diaz is saying that she works for the government:
[QUOTE]And I quote from Kimkins Dangers:
Kimmer seems to believe it's true, or should we say "The Kimmer". Posted at the LCF Kimmer thread this afternoon is a private message sent to a member from The Kimmer herself. We have outside confirmation that this is indeed an authentic PM from The Kimmer.
She has said this before, along with claims of having worked in aerospace long ago. Whether she ever really worked at Hughes Aircraft or not, at this point in time, any "security clearance" she was given then would not still be in affect today.
WillSheBanMe said...
She had the friggin' nerve to tell me this in a private message today:
What a sweet note! The problem is that I am not Heidi. If you read my post earlier, I took Heidi's identity (if you want to call it that) when I first started posting on the internet. It was new and scary to me. I have a national security clearance and wasn't about to give any of MY information on a public source.
Heidi isn't bothered by the TV thing at all. She owns part of Kimkins and that's as far as her involvement goes. I needed someone to be "me" when I met Catherine who I didn't know. She had some kind of tax evasion problem in
Canada and moved to Malta. Not somebody I'm going to divulge personal secrets to.
I know you're offering the very best support and that's so important to me. Please keep up the good work, keep the challenge going -- lose weight!
That's why we're here.
Hugs,
K.
