Here's a few of my favorite scriptures:
"You realize, don't you, that you are the temple of God, and God himself is present in you? No one will get by with vandalizing God's temple, you can be sure of that. God's temple is sacred—and you, remember, are the temple.
1 Corinthians 3:16 The Message
To me this means we have a responsibility to take care our bodies.
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful." John 14:27 New American Standard
Most of us live in AND for the world and we're not supposed to. The world has little to offer compared to God.
"I have given them thy word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I do not ask thee to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one."
This is where we get the saying "In the world but not of it." This is another reinforcement that although we must walk through the world we should remember this is not our home and not to let worldiness rule us.
"I will bless you so that you may be a blessing." Genesis 12:2
We should share our blessings by sharing with others in any way we can - including lending support to our fellow forum members. Jimmy's blessing us all by providing this forum. Thanks Jimmy!
