Hello there everyone. I'm Sibi, a former KK'er. I'm glad to be able to talk freely and openly in a place that is peaceful and informative (thanks Jimmy!). I have lost 52 pounds so far and am feeling great. Despite the fact that I did Kimkins, I never did K/E for more than 2 days because I always felt bad after a couple of days. I'm also a chronic cheater (which I must learn to control), so I have suffered no ill-effects from my dieting thus far. I still have a long way to go and can't do it alone. I find that the support I get from my fellow dieters is the key to keeping motivated!! So I'm starting this journal to be accountable for my actions not only to myself but to all of you.

I'm 45 yrs old, married with a beautiful, strong, healthy son biggrin.gif Both of my parents are Cuban and my husband is from Peru so I am fluent in Spanish. I have 3 lovely sisters, 2 of which are heavy just like me. I live in Virginia but work in Washington DC (bummer commute sad.gif ). During the first 18 years of my life I had no significant weight problems. It all started when I first went to college. That's where my stress-eating began. I'd have to say though that most of my weight was gained post-pregnancy. I packed it on to the tune of 300lbs. YIKES!! Since I'm 5'3" - 300lbs LOOKS like more. I started to have health issues (sleep apnea, knee problems, borderline diabetic, etc. ) and that's when I decided enough is enough. And here I am!

My goal is to get to 140 by next July. I know that with your help I will make it!!

Happy losing y'all user posted image

sibi! i am glad you've started a journal here. now it really is feeling like home and we can get back to business...only in a healthy way!

Sibi, it's great to have you posting here. Like Moofie said we are at home and need to get down to business. You get rid of the cool whip, and stay on track biggrin.gif . OMG your already getting preached at, lol.

Your introduction was very nice, and you summed it all up nice and neatly smile.gif . I hope you have a great day tomorrow. See you soon...

Good morning everyoneuser posted image

I'm happy to report that despite my TOM going full force this month I've lost another pound!!! The scale is finally moving again, thank goodness. After a stall of more than 3 weeks I am happy biggrin.gif My clothes are seriously starting to hang on me and look quite baggy. In another 10-20 pounds I'm gonna have to let them go - I will do it happily though! I'll have to start scrounging around my closet for my smaller clothes. Gees, before I never had hope that I would be saying that and now I can. tongue.gif

Had quite a bit of middle back pain yesterday. I don't know why since I haven't done anything strenous lately but I was aching something awful yesterday. Spent the night icing it and walla, pain is gone this morning, thank goodness. Also, my knee pain seems to be a thing of the past. Haven't had any knee problems in over a month so I'm glad to be a normal person again.

It's a dreary overcast day in DC. Wish I could go home, curl into a ball and hang out under the covers of my comfy bed with a good book. Oh, if only we could do what we wanted, sigh...... Nope, gotta work to bring home the bacon. Yuck!

Hope all of you are doing well and losing up a storm!

Hugs,

Sibi

sibi...now you can bring home the baoon AND eat it, too! smile.gif

congrat's on the loss...the loose clothes (that is SO much fun) and the lack of knee pain! it's great when things stop hurting.

keep going..you gotta catch up to me so we can do this together the rest of th way!
Rainy69
LOL, I hope you enjoy eating the bacon, hehe. I still remember all the knee problems you used to have, and it's really great that thaat is a thing of the past.

The weight loss news is so darn great Sibi, good for you biggrin.gif

Moofie,

He,he,he...bring home the bacon and eat it too! Yep, I sure love bacon so that's a great thing!

I keep tryin to catch up but you're just goin to darn fast. I don't want you to slow down cause I want you to keep losing. So I guess I'm your "wing man", you know like airplane pilots? I'll be right behind you to make sure everything's ok. And if you should stall and I catch up (chances of that happening are slim to none) I'll hold your hand and we can continue together.

I told my hubby last night that soon I would need to buy some new clothes because I didn't want to keep wearing baggy clothes to work. He agreed. Now, all I need is some money. laugh.gif

Thursday, Oct 4, 2007 afternoon

Good day everyone! I got plenty of sleep last night and plan to do it again tonight. It's real hard for me to go to bed early though because by the time I get home after my lengthy commute it is 7:30pm. I eat dinner, help my son with a couple of things then it's time for bed. Gees, I'm missing out on so much life just because I work so far from home. It sucks!!

I'm debating whether to go work-out today. I'm feeling sluggish despite all the sleep and my back is still achy. I can't seem to get into "get up and go" mode today. Don't know why..........

Hope everyone is well and losing those unwanted guests - pounds of fat. be talkin to y'all,

Kjersten,

Please remember not to over-extend yourself. You won't be doing anybody any good that way. Do what you can but reserve some "alone" time for you and time w/your family. ok? And eat right of course (hey, gotta put in that little bit just to make sure you're not forgetting..... wink.gif )

Sibi, I was finding that when I slept more, I still felt really groggy too. It passed after less than a week and my energy really ppicked up. If yours doesn't pick up, I'd really suggest suppliments to see if that makes a difference. I told Su to watch out for your cheats too, lol. You might be in trouble biggrin.gif

Lorraine,

Yep, I read it over at your place, you little stinker laugh.gif I must admit though that last night I lost it.....completely.... sad.gif

Things here in my department at work are absolutely AWFUL. Myself and fellow colleagues are being treated like little children who need to be "watched" 24/7. "Where did you go for 15 minutes?", why weren't you sitting at your desk at 3:11pm?, etc. You see, we're supposed to be chained to our desks the whole time we're here. (NOT!!!!) So yesterday I was fuming angry about an email I received but I had to bite my tongue and not say a word - or else.....so the or else became a McDonalds double cheesburger, small fries and a baby ruth candy bar. Sure I felt better temporarily but then I got even more upset because of my cheat. I'm sure you know the cycle......

Then this morning I read that Kimkins has new ownership. What????!!!???? Is she frickin nuts??? She's just trying to find a way to bail out. Doesn't everyone see that? The fake success photos, all gone from the site. She's a scam artist - that's all there is to it. So, now I'm all upset again. I'm going to try to do better today and just have a piece of meat and a salad for lunch. But dammit, life just sucks right now user posted image

Sibi, no one sees that she is a scam artist. My only consolation is that she is gone and hopefully there will be no more F'd up dieting advise given out over there. I'd like to see the whole place go down because she pissed me off so much for not taking any blame for the mess she created, on the other hand the people left over there are adults, so what can you tell them.

I don't think that they are all stupid or anything like that, but perhaps not willing to give up what works for them. I was like that when I started too. No one could tell me that I was harming myself at all.

OK, Sibi you little cheater you. Off to confession you go and don't forget the 'hail Mary's' and all that stuff biggrin.gif

Well I hope that you can get away from that job. It's bad enough you have to travel 2 hrs to get to work, so the extra stress is totally unnecessary. Move to Newfoundland with me biggrin.gif

sibi, i am sorry work sucks so bad for you right now. it's so hard when your job, which takes up such a large part of your life, becomes unbearable. i hope you will be able to find another job someday.

and stay away from mcdonald's!
you know the cycle, too...it only makes you feel good a short time and then you feel worse. don't let it continue because it will only be more and more worse. jump right back into the LLVLC saddle!

Lorraine,

I know, I know, I'm a cheater, I confess! But I've been good this weekend and the scale rewarded me this morning with another pound loss. Go figure?

I hope they catch "her". She needs to be held accountable for the damage she's done to people, financially and physically. It would be real nice if she'd fess up but chances are she won't because people like her do not have a concience and just don't give a hoot who they hurt along the way as long as their pockets are full of money.

New Foundland sounds like a lovely place BUT I do not like the cold I'm sorry to say. I'm a warm weather person. Delaware is about as far north as I'm willing to go. But I would love to come and visit once you've settled in!! biggrin.gif

How's the salt obsession coming along? You got a grip on that? cool.gif

Moofie,

Yep, work sucks alright. I feel like I'm trapped and I can't get out. I'm going to continue searching for that job that will bring me close to home and pay the bills. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

When I go to McDonalds I usually have one of their salads. But on Thurs evening I just lost my control and let my emotions take over. It was also TOM time so that must have contributed to my emotional state. I have been good this weekend though so I've made up for my temporary stupidity.

I had a small victory today. I went to a gas station today called "Sheetz". Their shop inside is full of Yummy stuff to eat. Cinnamon rolls, all kinds of desserts, chips, candy, cookies, you name it.... When I used to go there I would fill up on chocolate and sweets. Today I went in for something to drink and was craving something crunchy, munchy. I started looking at carbs and everything was loaded with them. I kept looking and putting everything back. Then I came upon some barbecue pork rinds. Hmmmm, I remember conversations about these in our forums. I looked and 0 carbs. Yes, this is it. This should satisfy the craving. I bought them and had a few (nope, didn't finish the bag at all) and was fine. NEVER before would I have bought something like that! So, I consider this a small victory for me biggrin.gif

Hope your weekend is going well!

sibi, next time you need a mcD's fix, just get a huge burger and toss the buns. gotta stay away from the fries, though!

i used to eat alot of pork rinds. they satisfied my chip crunchy needs. i would microwave them with shredded cheese and top with sour cream and salsa, ala nacho style, too. i haven't had them in a while. i got kinda burned out on them after awhile. they are a good low carb snack, though...good for you for making that choice. i always make myself read labels, too, when i am feeling tempted. the numbers can be shocking enough to keep you on the right path. it's when you close yoru eyes and ignore those numbers that you get in trouble. kudos to you..another baby step in the right direction!

i hope your work day goes much more smoothly. be strong, my friend.

Moofie,

Actually, I never thought to order a hamburger and toss the bun. I'll do that next time cool.gif I always ordered the Southwest salad w/Ranch but apparently the southwest salad was a "limited" time only item sad.gif I'm not happy about that....

I ALWAYS look at carb counts nowadays. If it's high in carbs I just won't buy it. Of course I will occasionally buy carby stuff for my son but it's really a treat, not the general rule. He's still not real keen on salads but I think that with time he may acquire a taste for them, let's wait and see.

We're having a massive heat wave here in Virginia too! It was 90 degrees today. I spent most of my time indoors today. Just had a lazy day until 4pm. Then we went grocery shopping as a family. It gets done so much faster that way. The scale graced me with another pound this morning! I'm happy!

I changed my avitar tonight. It's actually a picture of me and my son having some snuggle time tonight. We took the pic together with my digital. I love digitals!!

Hope your day wasn't too bad with this horrible heat. Rest those feets of yours. Soak em in some nice hot water and let them give you thanks tongue.gif

sibi, that's usually what i have at mcdonalds...i get a couple of those dollar menu double cheeseburgers and toss the buns. our neighborhood mcD's is very low carb friendly and actually will wrap them in lettuce for you, too.

We are definitely cozy when we snuggle. We cuddle up under the blankets and giggle, talk, tickle, and we also dance to some of my old favorite rock and roll songs. It's always a good time. Su,

It' so great to see you here in my journal! I'd love to pop by yours but I don't know what it's called. I hope you are a regular visitor here!! biggrin.gif

McDonalds is not too bad if you discard the bun and ignore the fries and all other stuff. I usually eat the salads. They're cheap and not too bad for a quick fix.

I've been cheating sporadically off and on since I started dieting. But I've still managed to lose 55 pounds so I can't be doin too bad. I just need my sweet fixes from time to time........what can I say? huh.gif I'm guilty.......

Wow, that recipe idea with the pork rinds sounds MARVELOUS!!! I'm gonna try that for sure. One question though, do you fry the chicken/pork or do you bake it?

Sibi

HalsAngel
FRY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH, MY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Sibi,
Can you tell the answer to that is "NO" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LMBO
You bake it at 400 degrees for 20 to 40 minutes depending how many you're doing. I do a whole large baking sheet so I have plenty made for days. So I usually do it for 45 minutes to make sure they're done, and since you coat the meat with Mayo it keeps it from getting dry. Yet, you get the "Crispy/Crunchiness" as if it were fried.

I never fry anymore, I keep the "4 B's" in mind for fixin` my vittles:

Broil~Bake~BBQ~Boil : that covers all the Meat & Eggs in my Plan!

Here's another tip for the Pork Rinds~ add the ground rinds to your Turkey or Beef Meatloaf recipe to hold it together. A lb.or so of meat, 1 egg, the pork rinds & your fave seasonings, it's good! If you use the Hot & Spicy or BBQ Rinds you don't need very much seasonings~
Plus I usually pour Salsa over the top of it for the last 5 minutes of Baking time.

Come by and visit anytime, Moofie was over this morning & we chatted, then we met up over at The Biggest Loser Forums & chatted there too.

TGIF October 12, 2007

Good Morning dear friends! It is a beautiful crisp fall day here in DC/Va. What a relief that the heat spell is gone. I love the fall with all its beautiful colors and fresh crisp air! I'm going to do something fun tonight. A highschool girlfriend of mine and I (she's bringing her 7 yr old daughter and I my son) are going to our old highschool tonight for our "homecoming" game. That's what homecoming is all about anyway - alumni are welcome to come biggrin.gif We're hoping to see some old friends there. Even if we don't it will bring us down memory lane when we used to go as teenagers. I can't believe that 27 yrs have passed since I left highschool. It still blows my mind!! I still feel soooo young. Oh well.......

I've been helping my son with a fundraiser for his music class. If he can sell 150 items he will get a Nintendo Wii. I told him that if he really wants it he will have to work very hard for it. I've managed to get 26 items sold so far here at work and he's gotten about 12 so far. We're going to be doing a lot of door to door sales this weekend meaning lots of walking. So this will good for both of us - health wise! I hope we can get the 150 cause I love the Wii - it's so much fun!

I'm sorry to report that the scale went up a couple of lbs this morning. ohmy.gif I'm mighty pissed - at myself. I lost it yesterday - had a white mocha latte with a sugar loaded molasses cookie from starbucks. I had been so good about avoiding the starbucks goodies and yesterday I just caved. I wanted it so bad that I gave in. Actually what I REALLY wanted was something else....user posted image but I knew I probably wouldn't get it so the molasses cookie soothed the desire..... Bad me, bad me.....When will I learn?????

I won't have a chance to eat dinner tonight because of the game and all so I'll have to eat a nice hearty salad for lunch. I can't wait for tonight!!!

Hope you all are doing better than me!

Su,

I guess the frying question was silly huh? Of course you bake it. So many less calories that way.

Sounds like you have loads of recipe ideas. Keep em coming cause I need new ideas. I wind up making the same stuff over and over and I get stuck in a rut. They have to be easy and quick recipes though. biggrin.gif I'm going to try the pork rind chicken this weekend. If its a hit than it will become a regular at my house cause it sounds real easy to make!

How's the move coming along? I bet you're beat with all the packing and stuff. Actually, you know what I hate more than packing? Unpacking...... I moved into my house almost 4 years ago and I STILL have a few boxes in my storage space in the basement that haven't been unpacked. Can you believe it? I'm such a procrastinator..... Oh well, one of these days (spoken like a true procrastinator)

Got any fun plans for the weekend?

Sibi

HalsAngel
Sibi~
Hahahahaha, OMG you reminded me of something that happened almost 42 yrs. ago.
My family had lived in a big two-story house for 12 yrs. when the owner decided to sell it and we had to move. By the way, this was in 1966, it was a 5 bdrm 3 bath house & our rent was $60.00 a month for the whole 12 yrs. we lived in it!
Anywhooooooooo, we were packing things to move & in one of the downstairs hall closets we came across a box~~that had NEVER been unpacked!
I figured that meant whatever was in it~we really didn't need~LOL

I actually like both packing & unpacking (I know I'm weird), I write on the side of the box what room it goes in & what's inside. So when whomever takes the box out of the truck or trailer they know right where to take it.

My DH's 50th Class Reunion is tomorrow night, but tonight is their Homecoming Game too & they all have sweatahirts to wear that say: "Class of 57" on the front. The school set up a special section just for them.
Tomorrow night is the Big Dinner/Dance & then sunday morning is a special Breakfast for them. Then on monday morning they leave for L.A. to go on the "Class of 57 Cruise" for a week.
We aren't doing the Cruise, as I don't do boats & we have alot left to do for the Nov. 3rd trip.
I imagine that I'll be Snubbed by Harold's old High School Girlfriends, because I'm 10 yrs. younger then they are, I still have my REAL Teeth and my Hair isn't Blue or that nasty Champagne color! LMBO

Hope you have fun at the game~~
Sweetie, don't sweat the gain of a few lbs. tonight~~

Go have some FUN!

Su,

You're going to a homecoming tonight too? How cool is that? Hey, about the other women, let them snub away. If they can't appreciate the great person that you are, who needs them anyway, right? I take real good care of my teeth (I go to the dentist every 6 months, I've been doing it since I was a child) cause I want to hold on to as many as I can till I go to the grave, ya know? My mom taught me to always take good care of my teeth! Thanks mom.....

You actually LIKE to pack and unpack???? Well, all I can say is you are one of a kind! Next time I move maybe I'll give you a buzz, how about that??? lol

You don't do boats? I've never been on a boat but I can swim so I may consider a cruise someday. But I don't do planes. I used to but 1 trip to Spain and Portugal many years ago filled me with such fear that I don't like to fly anymore. We had turbulence practically the whole 9 hours there because of a storm over the ocean. I was a nutcase. On the way back my friend had to give me a valium so that I could at least relax - a little. My husband is from Peru and we haven't been there in almost 11 years. He'd really like to go to visit his family but I seem to have transferred my fear on to him and my son. Not good sad.gif I like standing on firm ground!

Anyway, I need to sign off. Hope you have a wonderful night. Tell us all about it, ok?

Hi Sibi, too bad about that weight gain. At least it always comes off. And you ARE doing way better at avoiding all the bad stuff, so your getting off lucky today biggrin.gif . Hehehe, now try and cheat again and it will be a different story.

I hope that you have a fun homecoming. I'll bet that going through the school again would be so cool. I hope you and your friend have a great time.

I have no idea how your getting off so lucky with Su not giving you lots of hell for having a cookie, GEEZ, maybe she is just starting off easy on you. Watch out for her rolleyes.gif lol.

Have a great day tomorrow.

Hope you had fun at the game last night.

We didn't go to Harold's, it was pouring down rain & we decided NOT to go sit in it.
BUT~the Reunion is tonight & I gotta go get ready soon, we have to be there at 5pm and it's 2pm right now.
I washed & pressed his clothes, de-linted his Black Cowboy Hat & then shined his Black Western Boots. Then I polished his big Eagle Belt Buckle (it was his Dad's) so he's got all his stuff ready.

It's a 1/2 hr. drive from here, he's doing all the Photography for it, so we need to be there early so he can take the pictures of everyone, as they enter.user posted image

I'll let y'all know tomorrow how it went!

Luv ya, Su

Hello everyone, I'm back! Sorry to have been gone since Friday but there are reasons. My home computer is Fu**ed up again. Loaded with Trojans, viruses, etc. I had a very bad day on Sunday. Nothing went right and I was in a fowl mood the whole day. As a result I ate whatever I wanted. Didn't give a flying hoot cause I was angry. Yesterday I didn't go to work because I had to take my son to the Doctor. He's got a chest infection which is now being treated with antibiotics. So, the weekend overall was not good in any way and even less eating wise. And despite it all I lost 1 pound?????? I swear I don't frickin get it!!!!!????

Friday night was the highlight of my weekend. I went with my son to my highschool homecoming game with my friend Judy and her daughter. Wow, it brought back sooooooo many memories. When I was in highschool I attended ALL our home games and would go to the dances afterward. I did run into a couple of people from my past so that was nice. Judy and I are going to try and attend at least one more game before the season is over. I took a few pics which I will share with y'all via email. I'll send those tomorrow since I don't have the means to load them up on my computer today.

I missed talking to all of you over the weekend! Well, I've gotta go catch up on journals.

Hugs,

Sibi

Sorry your weekend suckeduser posted image ~as for the lb. you lost~~WTG Lady!
Sometimes the body needs to be shocked~user posted image~into losing again after a stall.

You'll be reading about my binge also, I don't have my scale around (it's in the trailer) so I couldn't weigh.
But I KNOW I gained from it, as I could feel the tightness in my clothes, hands, feet & my face was PUFFY.
YUP, from the SALT!

Yesterday I started the Fat Fast & this morning I woke up feeling ALOT better~~and for the record, if you want to cure your bathroom problems, the fat fast is the answer!
Let's just say that my eyes AREN'T DARK BROWN~ anymore !
Sorry, I know that's WTMI~ laugh.gif

Luv ya, Su

Hi Sibi, I'm sorry to hear that you've been not eating well recently. Neither have I. I know for me the stress has finally broken me and I've been eating badly, which makes it all worse. Let's try to help each other through, ok?
Rainy69
Sibi, it's too bad about the darn computer again, and the not so hot binging. I'm thinking you are one lucky lady to still lose and am happy for you too. I get surprised sometimes at how easily the weight can come off when it isn't expected and how easy it is to put back on too. I guess it's one of those things we just have to accept.

I'm also glad to hear about your fun time at the game this weekend. You have a great day tomorrow, and good luck getting back on track. smile.gif

Hi Kjersten,

Yep, sounds like we're both being quite naughty. I guess stress and other factors weigh heavily on the psyche huh? I need to learn some other way of coping with big upsets ya know? Anybody out there have any ideas? Kjersten and I would love to hear about them.... biggrin.gif (shopping is not an option since I never have any money - the bills suck it all up)

We can't let ourselves get completely out of control because then we'll undo all the stuff we've done already. Sooo, if you have a bad eating day or momentary lapse in judgement just make sure and make the next meal/day count. If we lose the focus we'll lose our goals and I, for one, don't want to do that. My health and well being are dependent on weight-loss as is yours.

So keep me posted on what you're doing even if you're naughty. I'll give you a good scolding and we can move one from there...

Are you still going to your TOPs mtgs? Is that helping at all?

Lorraine,

Are you kidding me? Cafeteria guy is ALWAYS hitting on me. He doesn't get the hint. In his mind I'm his soulmate and there exists no other. He will NEVER go away. I'll tell you what though, when I leave this job (oh please God let it be soon!) I'm not even going to tell him, I'm just outta here. He doesn't know my last name nor where I live so bye-bye cafeteria guy.....I can't wait!!! He's been rather tame the last couple of days so I wonder what's up.......dare I hope he found someone else????? I doubt it.....

Lorraine,

My computer is a sore spot for me now. I'm really angry about it mad.gif I would like to come on the computer at night and talk to all of you but I just can't go near it just yet.......

I'm still holding on to that lost pound. Haven't gained it back but haven't lost any more either. Oh well, I'm ok. I'll go down again eventually, right????

The game was so much fun that we're going to another one on Oct 26. This time though we'll go better prepared (blanky, popcorn, drinks). Nicholas told me last night that when the cheerleaders were doing their thing last friday and a few of them were hoisted into the air he was secretly trying to look up their little skirts. OMG, I'm telling you, I'm in a heap load of trouble......

sibi, the homecoming sounds great, and i loved the photos you sent. sounds like you really enjoyed yourself, and that's what it's all about. my daughter went to her homecoming last weekend, too. her boyfriend drove in from Madison to take her and they looked so great. he's really grown on me the last year, and i am quite fond of him at this point., he has a great sense of humor which i find of utmost importance.

now...stay away from starbucks. it's evil. and expensive. boo starbucks.

i fully understand stress eating. though right now i am stress starving. i guess i am not as recovered as i thought i was. neither is good, both are bad for our health...so we gotta do something about it, ya know?
