These are so very incredibly filling and FANTASTIC for you!

You can order them by the case at their website: www.brancrispbread.com or through www.Netrition.com you can get them by the pack (10 crackers) for a little over $2 each. I can usually only eat 1 of these for a snack w/ a cheese spread or some natural PB and it totally fills me up! I also like to use these for "sandwiches" at lunch some times I use 2 slices w/ egg, ham, or tuna salad. They are 85% bran so they are PACKED with good fiber nutrients.

Ingredients: Unprocessed wheat bran, rye flour, salt

Per slice: 16 calories, 1g protein, 3 total carbs, 3g fiber, 0 net carbs

I have a correction on these, which I hope will be helpful and not too disappointing, as it's not a huge difference.

These have rye flour, which does have significant carbs. They have 16 calories with 0 grams of fat and 1 gram of protein. If the carb and protein counts are accurate, then this means that there are 12 calories worth of digestible/NET carbs--or 3 NET carbs.

When I first ran calculations on these (the Hidden Carb Calculator is easy), I thought that the issue was incorrect labeling, which is rampant in the US.

I just discovered this week that the difference is due to the fact that these were packed in Norway. In Norway, throughout most of Europe, and in some other countries, digestible carbohydrate and fiber are reported separately on the label. There is therefore nothing to deduct from the carb count and the usual rule for NET carbs can't be applied.

I do like the nice crunch with these, but I don't especially love the taste. Now that I know I'm not getting a carb-free food here, I'm planning to experiment with some other crisp breads. I'll report my findings here! LOL.

(An aside: LC experts differ on the importance of bran and fiber in the human diet; I'd be eating them just for the flavor/crunch factor, not especially for my health.)

well you just broke my heart...
I have been eating 4-6 of these each day.
I absolutely love them.
They were helping keep me sane and not reaching for the Doritos...

<<sniff, sniff>>

I think I need a moment

Thanks Valerie... darn... thought that was too good to be true wink.gif LOL

Ya know.. I'm ok w/ it though because I like them for the health factor and I don't mind the taste at all. I can usually only eat 1-2 at a time anyways.

Thanks for the info!!

I buy these, too and have one once in a while..They are yummy with pizza sauce and cheese/pepperoni in the toaster oven.

If you aren't going to eat alot of them at once, I always kept my extra packs in the freezer.
