KC MASTERPIECE CLASSIC BLEND BARBECUE SAUCEI buy this at Wal-Mart for about $1.44 bottle. They've changed the label recently so I'm not sure if it looks just like the photo. Just look for the one called "Classic Blend".
Ingredients: tomato puree (water, tomato paste), water vinegar, salt, spices, natural flavors, modified food starch, dried garlic, dried onion, sodium benzoate, tortulla yeast, maltodextrin, xanthan gum, red 40, blue 1, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, caramel color, turmeric, paprika extracts

I think I remember this was under $2 but VERY tasty and thick like regular BBQ sauce but without all that added sugar... much better than any other that I've tried.
It's in a blue/yellow bottle, and I can ususally find it at my HEB.
Serving size: 2 tbls, Calories 10, Total fat 0, Total Carbs 2g, Protein 0, Net carbs 2g

sorry Linda, didn't see you'd already done this topic
I merged and added my 2cents... really like this BBQ sauce!
Has anyone noticed any issues with not losing after eating this bbq sauce? I have noticed the next day I am either up a lb or didn't lose anything. I don't know if it was that or sf jello or soda w/Splenda. I am cutting out the jellos and sodas completely. Also I had the sauce on cut up hotdogs fried in a pan. I know they are high in sodium too and im cutting out those.
I don't want to scare anyone away from it I really LOVE this BBQ sauce - it is awesome and I dont see anything that would be bad in the ingredients.

I guess it might depend on how much of it you're eating. It would also be hard to tell for sure if the BBQ sauce was the problem or if it was all those delicious ribs that were eaten with the BBQ sauce on them (not you personally, Rozy, but hypothetically). My point is that it would be difficult to pin it down to the sauce when it's possible that what ever else you ate as part of that meal might have been the problem.
Do you think that you're eating more than the recommended serving size?
Hmmmmm......well with the hot dogs I had 2 large frankfurters and probably a total of 2tbs of bbq sauce. But I think the hot dogs are bad in general. I did have ribs and had 3 (used your bbq rib recipe for the crockpot and OMG was it good! But yeah 3 was probably too many and I had a cup of your cheesy broccoli casserole on the side. BUT I am thinking my issue was the Redi Whip topping (can) that I had been having nightly on my sf jello. It does have corn syrup and sugar in it - the label fooled me by saying less than 1g carb and sugar per 2tbs.

This just may be my favorite low carb product in the entire world (especially since it's so much cheaper in comparison to chocoperfection...my second favorite based purely on the fact that they are expensive

.
I love, love, love to bbq. In fact, I just took two pork shoulder roasts (pulled pork) and a brisket out of my smoker about an hour ago.
KC masterpiece has always been my favorite bbq sauce so I was very thrilled to see a low carb version (It says "low calorie" on the outside). I'm going to be honest here. The low cal stuff is NOT as good as the real thing. It does have a very similar flavor to the real thing, it just has the familiar Splenda-esk finish that doesn't taste quite the same as the real thing at the end...but it's still darn good (If you don't understand what I mean by that "Splenda finish" or have been doing LC so long that you don't even recognize it anymore then you are going to love this product even more! )
This is a great product if you are doing life LC and love KCM and good homemade bbq.
Oh I absolutely love that bbq sauce and was getting worried every time I would eat it I would gain or not lose the next day and I am still on induction. It was driving me nuts trying to figure out what was causing it. But I really don't think it is the sauce.
I just really want to make this plan work but also enjoy some stuff (like bbq sauce and a diet soda every so often without it ruining my success). I am still in the learning process here

See what I mean? It could have been any of those yummy foods that brought on a little gain the next day. The first thing that jumped out at me were the hot dogs. All the sodium could have caused some water retention. You might also be sensitive to cheese. A lot of people say that they have to watch how much cheese they eat. It's so hard to tell what things are problem foods sometimes.

I know just what you mean about the "Splenda finish". I've been using Splenda long enough now that I don't notice it most of the time anymore but every now and then it will really jump out in certain foods.

This has become my favorite bbq sauce. I like the sweet and smokey sauces so I add 2 drops of liquid splenda and a drop or two of liquid smoke to the bottle. This has become one of my favorite condiments. It' great mixed with a little mayo on burgers too.

I've definitely noticed the Splenda-esk finish to the KC LowCal BBQ Sauce. I too love the original, but the low cal just doesn't have that same flavor. I think it might be the molasses or something.
It is sad that out of all the shelves of BBQ sauce at Wally World there is only that one KC low cal! How sad!
Surely there is someone out there that makes a really good BBQ sauce with little or no sugar. I am a BBQ lover myself and this is one thing I really miss. I am on my second bottle of the KC, but I'd switch if I could find something better. Perhaps I'll have to try brewing my own.

Stubbs has 5 grams per 2 Tablespoons. It comes in original and spicy. They're both good.

I think that the KC Masterpiece is smoky enough but I also add a little more sweetener to it sometimes. To me it can taste a little bitter at times without more Splenda.
I like to use KC Masterpiece to make this tasty sauce to put on burgers:
CREAMY BBQ SAUCE1 tablespoon low carb barbecue sauce
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1/8 teaspoon granular Splenda, or to taste (I use a little more than this most of the time)

Is that 5 grams of sugar????
Doesn't seem very Atkins friendly to me!

The label says 4 grams sugar, 0 grams fiber, 5 grams total carbohydrate.
I know it is high for an Atkins sugar count, but for me it's the lesser of all the other evils when I want a good bbq sauce for my brisket- sausage-cheese combo. I usually stick with mustard with my meat, but periodically want a good bbq sauce ... after low-carbing for the past eight years I kind of have an idea of what I can get by with and when I can get by with it.
Got it.
Can you share your recipe... always looking for something new to do with brisket!
Thanks.

Well, if you like easy recipes this is the one! After my husband smokes a brisket, I put a layer of thin slices on a plate, add a layer of heated sliced smoked sausage (I like spicy if I can find it) and top with a thin layer of chedder. Nuke for 30 seconds if necessary to quasi-melt cheese. Top with 2T bbq sauce (I like the spicy bbq sauce if I can find it). Dill pickles on the side and a large glass of ice tea makes this pretty much perfect IMHO.

I used to make chicken in BBQ saue and the sauce part of it was tomato sauce, soy sauce, garlic and honey. Perhaps our clever cooks could work up a home made low carb substitute (obviously the honey is out). I'm not that big a fan of BBQ sauce so haven't been motivated enough to try...
Just thinking out loud

I have not been able to find this product. I have looked at wal-mart, Kroger and Ingles but still no luck. I live in the middle Georgia area, any suggestions? Thanks.

Have you checked with the service desk to make sure they don't have it? The first place I heard of it was from Walmart.
If they really don't have it, maybe the Kroger will order it for you.
Ask... the worst they can say is "No.".

KC Masterpiece may be a regional brand. My friend in New York has never seen it there. My Kroger store here in Houston sells the brand but not the low carb one. Luckily I can get it at Wal-Mart and it's cheaper there anyway.
