Not sure if anyone has tried the paid site for SB, but I was wondering if you have, do you like it? Is it worth the money paid over say, just buying books?

I am trying to find a WOE that is better for me than kk was and SB seems to be the better choice for me I think. I used to have the SB book but darn if I can find it sad.gif

Ultimately, I am trying to find a plan that will teach me how to eat better for health, weight loss will be a bonus, so if you think it would be good for me please let me know. If you have any questions also please let me know as I know I am being very vague atm sad.gif

Thanks all smile.gif

I'm actually not on South Beach but a similar plan. As far as if it is right for you...the higher (than many other lc plans) carbs should not hurt you as long as you don't have certain health ailments that some say require much lower carbs (like PCOS...that's all I can think of right now, but I know there's more). The other question to ask yourself is, can you eat like this for life. A successful plan is one that you can stick to and not feel deprived...not a crash diet. It is definitely a healthly plan and if you can stick to it I say go for it. I personally find the variety that you can eat on SB very appealing and since I don't much care for really fatty meats I don't feel deprived on my plan.

Hi Alison, I didn't pay for the site. Been there, done that "someplace else" and since I had the book and had the support here, it just didn't seem necessary. Do you have a discount bookstore in your area? You can probably find the book much cheaper than joining the site, and then for recipes and stuff you can still access tons of other LC recipe sites.

My tolerance to carbs seems to be pretty low, which is why I lost really well on K/E, so while my family (kids included) are on SB, I am doing more of an Atkins approach. But I LOVE the Sb plan and hope that when I reach my goal that SB WOE will be my whole family's lifestyle of choice.

Thanks so much for the replies biggrin.gif

I am going to go look for the book today, I read it once before but do not remember anything about it sad.gif

I like the idea of learning to eat better instead of just losing weight, after losing so much in a short amount of time on that other plan, I figure I owe it to my body to take it easy for a while.

Hopefully I can find the book now haha
