MT. OLIVE SUGAR FREE PICKLES

Although I'm not much of a pickle eater, I do like to use them in recipes occasionally. Every sugar free product of theirs that I've tried has been very good and you could never tell that they were artificially sweetened. I like their Bread & Butter Pickles and sweet pickle relish and I buy them at Kroger. Wal-Mart in my area doesn't carry the sugar free Mt. Olive products.

Ingredients (Bread & Butter Pickles): cucumbers, water, vinegar, salt, mustard seed, onion flakes, calcium chloride, 0.1% sodium benzoate (preservative), sucralose (Splenda brand), xanthan gum, celery seeds, and FD&C Yellow #5

1/4 cup bread & butter pickles = 1g Carbohydrate; 0g Dietary Fiber; 1g Net Carb

Ingredients (Sweet Relish): cucumbers, water, vinegar, red bell pepper, salt, calcium chloride, 0.1% sodium benzoate (preservative), xanthan gum, alum, sucralose (Splenda brand), natural and artificial flavors, polysorbate 80, and FD&C Yellow #5

1 tablespoon sweet relish = 1g Carbohydrate; 0g Dietary Fiber; 1g Net Carb

I can't tell you how many jars of the SF Relish I use. I make a GREAT Thousand Island dressing with it and also Tarter Sauce.

I love these too. I have used them for years. However, I have been unable to find the relish for the last six months sad.gif

The Kroger store where I shop just started selling their own brand of sugar free sweet relish sweetened with Splenda. I bought a jar but haven't had a chance to try it yet. I'm hoping it's as good as Mt. Olive's because it's a bit cheaper to buy if I don't have a Mt. Olive coupon. My husband just finished off the Mt. Olive relish today so maybe I'll try the Kroger relish tomorrow and post back with what I think of it. I'm curious to see if the spices are a little different than Mt. Olive's.

I use those Mt Olive SF sweet relish in my famous chicken salad. Everyone at work loves it.

When I run across the relish, I have to stock up on it because when the store runs out, it takes a while to get it back out on the shelf.

I've had the Kroger brand...also Meijer brand. Meijer is probably only in Michigan. Anyway, I like both of the store brands as well as the Mt. Olive brands. I haven't tried the relish...just the bread and butter spears and chips. They are wonderful!
