At KK there was a group that started the "Turkey Trot" to lose 30lbs by Thanksgiving.

We started early September, I think. I'm wondering if with this new WOE it will be possible to achieve this goal and if it is would anyone care to join me in this challenge?

Anne

PS- I had lost 7lbs but put most of it back on so I'm really just starting over again.

GOOD LUCK in your challenge, Anne!

I will join you Anne, but I have a question. I was wondering if I could make my goal for 20 pounds or if it has to be 30? We have 53 days until Thanksgiving, so losing 30 pounds would be over a half pound per day and I have never lost that fast, even on KK! If I can make my goal for 20 pounds then that will be about 1/3 pound each day and I 'think' I may be able to do that!!

What do you think?

Thanks!! biggrin.gif

I don't believe that there is a healthy diet that will allow a group of committed people to lose this much weight this quickly. Be careful, okay?

I agree, Valerie. Can you cut the challenge to 20, Anne? THANKS!

Twenty pounds is fine with me!

I have always been a pretty fast loser - even doing Weight Watchers it wasn't unusual for me to lose 5lbs a week or more. I like eating too well to starve myself, though!user posted image

I would like to be in Onderland by the holidays, maintain through the holidays, then set a new goal just after the new year begins.

It has always seemed like the more I try to "be good" during the holiday, the more likely I am to binge afterwards. So I feel bad for missing out on goodies and then I make it worse by bingeing because I feel denied. Is it just me, or does anyone else get caught in the same rut?

Wow, that's great that you can lose weight that fast!! I never do! Even doing K/E strictly I only lost about 20 pounds in 2 months. I will consider myself lucky to be able to lose 20 pounds by Thanksgiving!

If someone else joins your challenge and you want to keep it at 30 pounds that is fine with me!! I don't mind having different weight loss goals! smile.gif

Hey there

I am in on the 20lb challenge. After 3 months of kk my weightloss slowed to 10 per month which is 2.5 per week roughly which is good for me. Realistically I will be struggling to make 15 but will aim for the 20. Looking forward to losing.

Hi Raewyn,
I need to get on the ball! I've been looking for a new diet that I can live with but since kk I've been stress eating - carbs of course.

I've also increased my fat intake a lot trying to counteract the negative effects of kk. My hair isn't falling out as fast as it was and my skin isn't as dry and "old" looking as it had been. so I'm headed back in the right direction! ....now to get this carb thing under control!

Have you seen regandys beginners basics over in transitioning from kk. It has a good link in the second post to some menus and recipes for 16 days of induction for atkins I think. They are from linda sues webpage.

If you need some structured eating to get back on track give it a go. Plenty of fat. I had bacon, sour cream, cream cheese quiche with cream etc in it. My skin is also not so excema prone and the hair is good. when I run my hands thru it more comes out than usual but at least it is not a good handful. Michalle is there with us I think or is it the bandits challenge and I am getting mixed up.

Take care.

Raewyn
