This is what we are going to do: Crush Carbs and Drop Pounds.

This game is based on percentages of weight loss. OK let's see what we can drop this week.

Week one there is a little cheerleader announcing the winner to add to our siggy if we win.

Be sure and drink your water, stay on your plan, and get in a little exercise along the way.

Most of all be sure to PLAN so that you don't find yourself in bad situations with no backups to help you out.

An Illustrated Morality Play in Six Acts

by

CHRYSALIS

The impotent smoldering of the Smoking Aces called forth a storm of Blue Thunder and lightening, that spawned a Teal Tasmanian Tornado, that ruptured the fuel line of the 14 kt Carb Crusher, that was burying Hot Pink Diamondz in a toxic waste dump, creating a towering inferno that threatened to incinerate all five of the La VidaVille Special Biggest Losers teams, and poison the WORLD with noxious fumes, and ash the amount of which had not been seen since the days of old Pompei.

Fortunately, the Creped Crusaders, ten secretly commissioned women over the age of 50, who formed the surprise Team Six, were attending a Seminar nearby: Nuances of Flying in Lycra Sans Camel Toes, Panty Lines, and Wedgies, As Viewed from Ground, or Space. Rushing to the scene, they hovered above the blaze, holding hands and forming a huge circle, using their incredibly stretchy, crepey skins like a huge blanket, to smother the fire, and save the other five teams, and Civilization, as we know it.

For their valor, King Jimmy awarded the Creped Crusaders the title of Biggest Losers, and sent the ragged remnants of the other five teams to reclaim the burned out area as a Pocket Park, dedicated to the Pioneers of Low Carb Living, and all those who live green.

Hi Crushers, wink.gif

Shari Here, Your Captain

I still need a little bit of information on a few of you as far as stat's go, and I have sent out PM requesting it. Just send it to me and I can add it. Then I can develop a spread sheet and figure out our total starting weight.

Official Weigh In Will be on Monday's -

This challenge is for 8 weeks.

Some of you I know from the other place, and some of you are new to me.

Let's get to know each other a little bit better. biggrin.gif

Tell me about yourself, here is about me:

BIO: I am Shari, Age 46, Married for 5.5 years (first marriage), no children, one malt-poo dog, named Chloe. She is our baby. I am an interior design in the Middle Tennessee Area and love what I do.

Reason for starting this WOE: I had to bury my 43 year old brother earlier this year, and saw my parents go through pure he$$. I really never want to see them that said and decided that my obesity needed to be addressed, especially since I felt like I might also die at any given moment. My blood pressure was out of control, and I didn't feel like moving or doing much of anything. I want to be healthier for me, my parents, my husband, my family and my friends.

Favorite Time of Year: Spring, followed closely by the Fall.

Favorite Movie: Gone With the Wind, followed closely by The Wizard of OZ, Terms of Endearment, and Steel Magnolias.

My program during this challenge will include: Exercise at least 5 times a week or minimum of 5 hours of exercise a week. Drinking my water everyday, and keeping my carbs as close to 20 as possible.

You can choose to answer questions similiar to mine or add your own. It's your challenge too!

I feel some pressure being your Captain, means I must be a good example by not only what I say, but what I do.

I've been to the othe challenge rooms and introduced myself as Captain of this Team and wished everyone well, but also told them we were here to play this game and win.

Let's Crush Some Carbs.

Shari

PS Special Thanks to Fawn for help getting the word out. And also to all of you for having the courage to enter this challenge.

NOW LETS GET OUR GAME ON!!! MOVE IT>>>> MOVE IT>>>>> MOVE IT>>>>

Today I have drank my water in as much water as possible, up to my 5th 16 oz bottle of the day.

My carbs have remained low and should continue to do so through the dinner hour.

I got in 1 hour of water aerobics this AM, and boy what a teacher she was today. I loved how hard I felt I was working.

Tommorrow, plan is to do the 1 1/2 hour class in the AM. Not as kicked up a class, but it isn't suppose to be. Aerobics, Weights and Yoga class.

Shari, Fawn, Sherry, Karishma, Sue, Roxy, jodi, Vee, Karen and Pam..no hard feelings....in fact why don't you all come on over for a snack? I have a new recipe for Brownies and chocolate torte that you bake at 351.6 degrees and it bakes out all the carbs!!! Come on over and I will dish you up a nice big plate full!

Let the games begin!!!

PJPrimitives
Oh my gosh Buzzy-Sue. You look 10 years younger!!! You go girl. I bet you feel 10 years younger too. Gotta love this WOE!!! Wow Sheri. Way to go on that exercise!! That is being a great role model.
I have been on plan today and walked 3 miles in less than an hour!! I am planning on seeing that scale go way down monday.
I want to be in "ONERLAND"!!!
How is the rest of the team doing?????
Sorry but I think you will have to eat those brownies all by yourself catraeh!! We will come on over for a nice tea party though!!
Kanjivee
Posted this elsewhere before , but fits the bill here!!!

My name is Veronique and I live in Western Australia with my hubby of over 22 years and my two great kids - 19yo boy studying primary eduaction at uni and my 13yo daughter in middle school and our two adorable cats. I work as an Executive Assistant to a property developer here - great job with lots of benefits but, since I pretty well run the place and my boss is the most disorganised person I have ever met, it can be really stressful : ( Like everyone else here, I have also have had my share of problems to overcome but I'm alive and kicking!!!!!

Was always a chubby kid who grew into a yoyo dieting adult. Did the 800 calorie a day thing many times. I also used to be a bored/emotional eater - my husband did shift work for many years so I'd just eat. That all seems to have changed now and I'm really happy about that. I also have to say that alcohol was kind of a crutch for me in the past and locarbing has dealt with that for me.

My daughter dances so I spend a bit of time supporting her in that - lessons, costumes, competitions & concerts - exciting stuff. Hubby and I also enjoy going out to shows and dinners - am going to the Linkin Park concert in 2 weeks - yay!!!

My internet name (Kanjivee) comes from a tattoo I had done a few years ago - everyone calls me Vee so I had the Ve part of my name translated to a kanji symbol and tattooed on the small of my back. Also had my navel pierced - I am a bit of a rebel I suppose user posted image

I think if you asked my friends to describe me they would say I have a great sense of humour (I tend to make people laugh pretty easily), a strong sense of justice, passionate, somewhat obsessive and fairly emotional (thank my scorpio star sign for that). I am working on the obsessive bit

That's it I think....
swatkins
Catraeh,

Too funny, Sounds like you are saying... here kitty, kitty.

Well... GROWL.... Woof, Woof,Woof wink.gif

Go away, this team is too smart for your carb tricks.

Shari

swatkins
Hi Vee,

Let's not quite get rid of that obsessive gene, especially when it comes to challenges. wink.gif

I'm hoping you, me and the rest of this team are obsessive about winning these challenges.

Wouldn't it be great to make your goal in the next 8 weeks.

KUTGW.

Hi!! My name is Jodi. I am 36. I am married to my best friend. We celebrate our 6 year anniversary on Sat Oct. 6. We don't have kids but we do have 4 cats and a retired greyhound. They are our babies. I work part-time as an x-ray tech at a small clinic. I love my job and I am hoping for full-time soon.

My weight problems started in grade school. I've been dieting since I was 9. I did a lot of yo-yoing. If you would like to read the whole story there is a link to my journal in my signature. I am a recovering emotional binger. I am proud to report that I have not binged since I started doing low carb almost 10 weeks ago.

I look forward to getting to know everyone and kicking some butt!!!
swatkins
Thanks for sharing Jodi.

If you need a butt kicking, you will get a butt kicking. LOL wink.gif

Any volunteers for Butt Kicker????

I will try to make it to your journal to read more about you.

Looking forward to knowing more about everyone here.

Shari
Kanjivee
Shari - I'd love to make my goal in the next 8 weeks - as I said when I signed up tho, I have been stalled for weeks so am feeling very discouraged. Hope this can make a difference smile.gif

Hi Carb Crushers,

Just dropping in to say hi and I hope you all had a great day!

I wanted to come over and learn more about the opponents! It's going to be a tough challenge to win but it's going to be a lot of fun! You ladies look like a very competitive team! Lookin' forward to seeing you all take 2nd place! tongue.gif

Robin
PJPrimitives
Hey Vee. Sounds like you are ready to start losing again, if you have been in a stall. This might be just the thing to get you reved up and losing!!
I am back down to my 209.5 today. I can't wait to see what the scales say monday!! I would love to be in a size 16 by the end of this challenge and in a size 12 by the end of January.I started out in a size 24 the first of June and now I am in a size 18. We are going to kick some butt!!!
Here's my bio:
I have been fighting the fat all of my life. I was 10 pounds when I was born! I am 51 and have been married for a very happy 32 years. We have 2 wonderful sons that have grown into responsible young men. We have 4 step grandsons. Aging from 23 to 2!! My poor DH has stuck by me through all of the "DIETS"!! He is ideal weight and always has been but just hangs in there with me anyway. I am so happy to know that I have finally found the answer. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be eating this way for the rest of my life!! DH is retired and I work a seasonal job. That might change though because it is hard to live on that amount of money! We both golf on small courses in the summer and bowl in the winter. We also love to walk and ride bikes. I love to "junk" and paint and other crafts also. I go to auctions and buy "junk" and then sell it or paint on it and then sell it!
Thanks for listening.
Pam

Good Morning Crushers,

Just some short orders of business. One of the other teams has written me and thought it would be a good idea to add measurements as an optional statistic to our Stats.

Her point was that we will be on this road for 8 weeks and due to stalls on the scale, we might want to know we are losing in the inches category.

I think this is a good idea, and have gone to our stat posting sites and added the 11th Stat in as an option.

If you want your measurements added you can go to the site below and find our stat's post and edit it yourself or send me your measurements and I will edit them in for you.

Here is the link: http://www.lowcarbdiscussion.com/index.php...st=0#entry24407

Just scroll down under your name and you will see Stat #11 Measurements Optional.

It will take me a while to find a tape and check measurements, so I won't be posting mine until probably later in the week.

This is optional. This will also give you a chance to look over the stats and see that I typed everything in correctly. You can even add the numbers of our start weight if you like and see if I made a mistake in my math. Math is not my strong suit. Creative Brains hate numbers.

Have a great day,

Shari

QUOTE
Wasn't yesterday just incredible?  Wow...do you realize over ten percent of the members here are in the challenge?  Which bring up official stuff--I want your input, because six minds are better than one--never mind what men say about women never being able to agree.

I am attaching the Crepey Crusaders stats form.  Look down at the bottom at TAKING MEASURE OF A WINNER--YOU.  I really think inches should be included--separately, from weight loss percentages, but noted and honered just the same.  These two months are going to get long, and mean for all of us--stalls, illness, family and work pressures--so I'm all for anything that keeps interest and participation at a high level.

The Creped Crusaders

1.)  Screen Name
2.)  Name/Nickname
3.)  Starting Weight
4.)  Long Term Goal
5.)  Weight Loss Plan
6.)  Starting Picture (Optional)
7.)  City/State or Province/Country (Optional)
8.)  Height
9.)  Age (Optional)
10.)  Highest weight (Optional)
11.)  Measurements (Optional)***

TOTAL TEAM START WEIGHT:
TOTAL TEAM LBS LOST SO FAR: 0 LBS
TOTAL TEAM % OF WEIGHT LOST SO FAR

***Taking Measure Of A Winner--YOU

How many times have we read that even when the scale refuses to budge, we can still cinch our tape measures to smaller and smaller numbers?  Since many of us are starting the Challenge with lost pounds already to our credit, charting lost inches can be another positive marker of the committment we have made to...literally and figuratively..."get in shape."  Two months is a long time, so why not add this additional motivator to insure--and document--our on going success?

I know lots of you have been worried about the Creped Crusaders, but fear not. We're really hitting the the physical pffftness side of weight loss. Here's a little exercise plan our wonderful STILLDEW worked up for us. Our target heartrates are beating a cha-cha-cha.

I've already asked to be the 4th from the left with the great clevage. That's so much me!

-Here are the 10 new exercises I plan to add this week:

1. Lift and carry my walker every third step. Burns 02 calories/lift.

2. Use my cane to smack dirty old men. Burns 3 calories per smack
and 5 calories laughing about it afterwards.

3. Walk to kitchen, stand there 2 minutes trying to remember what I came for, turn around and walk back to living room. Remember what I went to the kitchen for. Repeat from start. Calories burned depend on how forgetful I am that day.

4. Hoist sagging breast back into bra. Burns 10 calories. Repeat at least 50 times a day.

5. Hoist other sagging breast back into bra. Burns 11 calories since this one is larger.

6. Walk with walker to the store to buy a new bra, being sure to use the step, step, lift exercise there and back. On the way to the store, throw boobs over my shoulders a few times just for good measure. Calories burned depend on how heavy the sack is on the way back and how many times I fall down and have to get back up.

7. Spend time trying to think of other 4 exercises while eating a low carb cheesecake. May burn a few calories if I think really hard and eat really slowly.

Are you afraid yet??? Be Really afraid, the elderly are sneaky and may just fool you.
