I'm trying hard to get my brain around what I've learned in the past 24hrs about Kimkins. Boy, am I sad.

I hadn't felt good and had blamed it on a newly diagnosed low thyroid and anxiety issues. I need to change my WOE in order to figure out what is diet related and what is truely a health issue.

I wrote a not so cryptic note to my "challenge mates" with a link to this site. I will miss them terribly. They were my sisters in Christ as well as my diet buddies. I hope they find me and maybe save themselves some health issues in the process.

I think of myself as have 100lbs to lose although I have already lost around 35 of that. I will probably hang out at the 100 pound forums and the faith forums.

Next time I write I'll be my old self again. Today I feel like a deer caught in the headlights.

Hello Anne,
I'm one of those people that Jimmy said would be here for you.

I too, am a KK Survivor trying to get my Health back, when I told the Ladies in a Challenge over in KK'ville, that I was having Hairloss~they tried to blame it on my Hypothyroidism.
I have been on daily medication for it since Nov. 2005 and Trust me, my hair was NOT falling out when I Joined KK. But it sure started to while following the very Low Calorie WOE.

As Jimmy said you've come to the right place for Information on how to lose weight in a Healthy way and for the Greatest amount of Support you'll ever find.

Feel free to ask for any help you might need~~
There are alot of very intelligent people here at Jimmy's Place~
and they always have their arms open wide,
to give you Comfort when you need it most.

God Bless,
Su

Thank you both so much for the kind welcome.

Su- is there anything special aside from Adkins that you are doing to regain your health? My husband reminded me that before KK my health had been improving. I had forgotten that - or hadn't realized it. My hypothyroid diagnosis came just before the WW article hit the stands. As I was shedding weight I also started shedding hair. I thought it was just summer shedding but its the end of September and the hair loss isn't slowing. The anxiety attacks that had ended have also returned. (Some of that is due to homeschooling, though)

I went to a Struggling Learner Conference early in September and the speaker discussed the importance of "Good Fats" to brain function. It became harder to reconcile the KK WOE to what the speaker was saying the more I listened to the CD I purchased. Trying to suppliment brain function while staying on a low fat diet seemed ridiculous. When I don't take the suppliments I'm REALLY spacey and don't seem to see as well either....

And I do things like stay up all night (like now) trying to figure out how to feel better ....like oh... last week would be good ohmy.gif

Thanks again,
Anne

Anne,
Please continue to take your Vitamin & Mineral Suppliments, as well as your Thyroid Medication.
The only other major thing I did was to keep increasing my "Good Fat" intake as Jimmy has told us to do.
When I printed out his 6 week Menu plan that helped him lose 190 lbs.~Feel & Look Awesome~~

I decided to use it as my "Food Bible"!

We women have to adjust a few things to it~~but stay as close to his meal plan as possible. I am losing weight slower then on KK~but my Hairloss, Blurred Vision, Insomnia and all over Lathargy is gone.
I am back to having Energy again!

Sweetie, I know Jimmy would give you the addy to get his 6 wk. plan~~but, I and a few others couldn't get into it. My good friend Ginger emailed it to me & I printed it out.
If you'd like it sent to you~I Saved it~just PM me with your email adress & I'll send it to you.

Here at Jimmy's Place~~We "Pay it Forward" on a Daily Basis.

Hope to hear from you soon~

Take Care & God Bless~~You will get better~I Promise!

Well a new day makes for a new attitude! I had anxiety due to my really busy day, but this evening I'm excited to be able to get a fresh start!

I bought Living the Low Carb Life today and am looking forward to reading it.

I think the increase in fat is helping my attitude. I left part of my piece of birthday cake just sitting on the plate. I haven't felt satisfied in quite a while - just an insatiable neediness.

With family in from CA and not being familiar with this WOE, starting with the new induction group may be an unreasonable expectation for myself. Hopefully, I'll be able to glean some fast info from my new book.

You'll get GREAT info from Dr. Jonny Bowden's book. It's so easy and fun to read and you'll be a low-carb pro in no time. biggrin.gif
