Well here is the continuation of my previous journal on Kimkins. I hope all my Kimkins friends find me and all is well. I can't believe that we were fooled. I'm feeling a little crappy about it, just because I made so many friends that I don't want to lose. The support there was great, but if everyone follows over to this site, we should all be ok. I just wanted to say hello, I hope everyone recovers from this, I hope everyone continues on a lc journey and finds a middle ground with this woe. Keep up the good work everyone!

188.8 today! Yess! I'm .8 from 60 lost. This is great.
For you who will read this and wonder who the heck is this wierdo, I'll tell you a bit about myself.
I started Kimkins in Feb 07. I've gone on and off the plan about a thousand times. I have lost almost 60 pounds so far. I have 38.8 left to go. I started my weight loss journey at 248 pounds. I lost about 9 pounds doing it the old fashioned way...cutting calories and exercise. Then my brother in law decides to get married and my future sister in law asks me to be a bridesmaid. Well I felt like I had to kind of kick it in the butt in order to be at goal by October. So I found Kimkins, started it, lost a lot of weight fast and have basically meandered my way through the last 20 pounds or so. I won't be at goal, but I'll be feeling a lot more confident then I would have at 248 pounds. The wedding is next weekend and I have a little way to go in order to be comfortable in my dress. This is my 3rd day of fasting and I want to continue it for at least a few more days. Fasting for me is a challenge. I do it once in a while to get a jump on my diet. This may be my last fast though for a while. Its hard to do. I feel really good about myself though when I can make it through a fast.
After all this kimkins blow up, I'm going to try to incorporate more veggies in my diet. I've known all along that I needed to, but now I know I have to. It won't be hard to do. It will just take a little planning and tweaking on my part. I am looking forward to some big fat csear salads though. With nuts. Awesome.
A little more about myself. I'm 26. I'm married to a great guy named Mike. We've been married for 3 years. We have a 2 year old female chocolate lab who is spoiled rotten. Her name is Indi. I own a small grocery store in a town of 600 plus people. I hate my job. (may as well not lie about it) My parents and newly turned 18 year old brother live next door to me. My 22 year old sister is a senior in college. Thier dog had pups a few months ago..there is one male lab/golden retriever left. Anybody need a cute loveable puppy? (sorry had to plug that) I have a mouth like a sailor, but I will try to keep it clean on here. If one slips by...excuse me ahead of time. I'm from minnesota. Its cold, its hot, its windy, its humid, it snows, it rains, and sometimes all in the same day. I am not a vikings fan. Go packers.

Yesss...Down another 2 pounds today. 186.8..which means that as of today, I've lost 61.2 pounds!
I'm 2 pounds from weighing less than my husband. It has been years since I've weighed less than him. The rate that I'm losing at is eventually going to slow down even while fasting. I'm going to hope for another 2 pounds tomorrow, but I'm not going to freak out if it doesn't happen.
I'm excited to see those lower numbers on the scale, but I need to see some inches lost in my waist. I know my chest and lower body have shrunk even in the last few days...my waist holds steady though...through the last 20+ pounds my waist has stayed the same. It eventually is going to have to shed some inches. But when?!?! I hope sometime in the next 5 days!
I ordered a mud wrap kit which is supposed to help you lose inches in your waist immediatly. I'm skeptical, but I'm willing to give it a shot. Anybody ever tried mud wraps with any success?
I ordered my 60 pounds lost reward months ago. I have a pair of sneakers in the closet that I haven't even tried on. I told myself that I wasn't going to even step my foot into them until I saw that 60 lost mark. So today is the day. I can't believe that I stuck to that and didn't even try them on. What a trooper. Now I have to start planning my 70 pound loss reward. Hmm. How about a hair cut? I haven't had one for months. I think that's what I'll do.
The hardest part about fasting is finding something to do to pass the time so you aren't thinking about food. Yesterday was a hard day for me. My husband, who can eat anything he wants and never gain any weight, sat around all day yesterday eating pizza, chips, candy, pop, and watching football. Then my bil came over to watch football too and he had deer sticks. Which by the way are wonderful. Normally on low carb I could have had some, but not while fasting, so I was bummed about that. I just didn't have a lot to do yesterday so it made it hard to not think about food. I finished a book, read a few posts on here, found out I was kicked off kimkins boards for good, TOS violation WTF?, I watched Jimmy's YOU TUBE videos. Very informative. I'm going to order myself some of those chocoperfection bars. Sound too good to be true. I mean eat chocolate and not gain weight. It would be a miracle from God himself. I can't wait to try it.
5 dieting days until the wedding. I'm doing a daily try on the dress and see where I'm at. So far it seems to be the same. The funny thing is that I've talked to 3 of the other bridesmaids and all of us have the same size dress and all of us are struggling to get into them. There is only 1 bridesmaid in a size 10 dress who I'm sure will fit into it beautifully. The rest of us are going to look like overstuffed sausages in our size 16's. Oh well..at least we will look like crap together.
I might go shopping this afternoon. I really don't need anything, but it will keep my busy anyway. I really shouldn't spend any money either, but it doesn't hurt to go places and try on clothes and not buy them. I have had many a successful shopping trip in the last few weeks without actually buying anything. My sister needs shoes for this weekend so we will be going mainly for those. We'll see what the day brings.

Jen, you're too funny about the overstuffed sausage remark~

Su,
Ever since you've posted in my journal I've been meaning to tell you that I love that you put your birth weight as your lowest weight. Everytime I look at that it cracks me up! I thank you for your support!
I totally feel like 20 pounds of potatoes in a 10 pound sack. That is a good comparison. The dress is an a-line so if I could just push those extra 10 pounds down into my butt, the dress would fit and you couldn't tell the difference. I may have to resort to duct tape. We'll see how things progress in the next few days. I tried the dress on again this morning..no change. I would take any advice on how to drop a few inches in the waist in a few days. (Other than slicing a chunk off) I'm still waiting for my mud wrap and I hope that gives me even an inch. I just can't believe that after losing 61.2 pounds, my waist is only 3 inches smaller than when I started. I tried on a pair of size 14 jeans this morning. Everything fits..except the waist. Which is how the dress is. They say that in bridal/bridesmaid dresses they size them up a size from what they actually are..so their size 14 is really a 12, and my dress a size 16 is really a 14. Knowing that I'm not into a 14 jean comfortably yet, that makes me think that its going to be hard to fit into that dress comfortably. I'm just going to keep pluggin away, keep on my fast, try to take it day by day and hope to God that the mud wrap not only comes in the mail soon, but works as well as it says it does. AHHH!
Well I'm off to work for now. I've got a million things to do today and I'm hoping to be done with them by 3 so I can leave and meet up with my sister. Cross fingers!
Time to get crackin!

As far as the Lowest Weight being my Birth weight~~it IS the lowest I've ever been~LMBO !
About your waist problem~~have you thought of investing in a waist cincher?
Or some control top panty hose in a size smaller then you usually wear?
They also sell an exercise waist wrap that helps you "Sweat off" the inches, I have one and wear it all the time~not JUST when I'm exercising~~seems to work for me.
My "Speed Bump" is smaller~~so I'm HAPPY~
Wow, so you're really wearing a size 14~~Awesome!

186.4 Down .4 from yesterday. Which is really amazing after yesterday.
Yesterday I felt pretty good all day until I was driving out for our shopping trip. My legs started to get crampy, my stomach started to hurt, and I felt faint. I supressed it for a while with diet soda and water. Once we got to the mall and walked around a bit, I was feeling really crappy. My sister looked at me and told me I looked like I was going to pass out, which is kind of how I felt. She's like..you are eating, and I agreed that I needed to eat something..it had been 4 days since I had last eaten. So we decided after we were done shopping that we would go to Perkins (like denny's) and get something to eat. We had to make one more quick stop before we could do that. So we went to the sporting goods store, spent less than 5 minutes in there, came back out...my truck wouldn't start. So here we are 90 miles from home, its 7pm, I don't have AAA, and my truck won't start. *(*&%@@ (numerous explatives) I went through all I knew about vehicle repair which didn't take long and figured that it must be the battery. I went out and jiggled the battery cables and low and behold it started. So we drove it to Perkins because there was no way I was going to make it home without something to eat...especially if the damn thing broke down and I would have to walk. I ordered a full carb meal..I wanted something that wasn't greasy, and wasn't spicy and would upset my 4 day empty stomach. I ordered an omlet with bacon and cheese, hashbrowns and whole wheat toast. I ate 2 slices of toast, 1/3 of my omlet and about 1/2 the hashbrowns. The toast was wonderful..(I know this is a low carb website...I'm trying not to tempt with the potatoes and toast)...the hashbrowns were ok, and the omlet wasn't that good. I had a few glasses of water and we were on our way. The truck started right up again and I made it home with no problems. The lights flickered a few times and I thought..here we go..I'm going to stall, but it never did. However....
This morning at 6:30 i get a phone call from my MIL who is my right hand man at the store, the tills won't start up..they run on windows and sometimes they are a real pain in the ass. MIL doesn't know anything (not an exageration) about computers so I had to go down there. Went out to get into my truck..won't turn over. I think there isn't enough battery power to turn it over. The lights turn on, but it won't turn over. So I'm going to call the repairman today and see if he can look at it. The battery is probably dead or almost dead. *&^%$@ (another round of cussing)
Anyway I've done my body wrap twice now. It did come in the mail yesterday. So far no inches lost. It does say it may take 3-4 wraps to be able to see any change...we'll see. I'm still skeptical.
I'm not sure of where to go with this diet now. I mean I've got 3 days of potential dieting before Friday. Friday we have the rehersal and rehersal dinner. The plates have already been ordered. Its fried chicken, baked potatoes, and biscuits. Not a whole lot of choice there. So I'm not sure if I should get back on this fast and keep going for another 3 days, or if I should just say to hell with dieting and try to eat low cal..lots of veggies for 3 days and get back on plan after the wedding, or if I should just eat low carb for the next 3 days. I don't know. I'd like to think that I could lose an inch or so if I fast for the next 3 days, but then again, I fasted for 4 days and didn't see any inches lost. AHHH! Just give me a donut and get it over with!

STOP !!!!!!!!!
What you need to do for the next 3 days is more of a Fat Fast~~do you have the Atkins book?
Go find the Fat Fast or just do more Protein & Fat~NOT Carbs~~take your Carb count down below 20 and you'll lose.
I did the "Just Meat & Good Fat" thing for 3 days & lost 8 lbs.
Do NOT increase your Veggies~~that would be going in the wrong direction~~it's the Protein & Fats that you want to increase!!!
Trust me~~if you don't~~then go to Jimmy's new Forum where you can ask HIM what you should do.

Hi, just read through your fun journal

I agree with Su, don't eat a bunch of veges at this point. Go with low carb from now until the wedding and that "sausage dress" will be fitting much better
I'm from Atlanta and just cannot imagine your winter-time. How do you deal with the cold temps? Do you go out and about or hibernate? I know I'd be staying in front of the fire all the time. I think my blood must be really thin or something because I really don't handle cold very well. Maybe if you live in a cold place, you get used to it and it's no big deal??
Good luck on your losses this week!!

I had to stop in and read your journal because of the name . . . . I was intrigues by it on the other site . . . . . . I felt that way for a short time! The name now is SO much better.

And can relate very much to your store problems as we own a c-store/gas station (more like a little market!).

OK guys thanks so much for the insight. I was exactly like you said...frazzled. I know that low carb will go faster, but I just didn't know if it was even worth it. But I'll try your fat fast. I need to find out how to go about that, but i'll work it out. Am I going to be eating sticks of butter for 3 days??!?! HAHA!

I read the section in atkin's book about the fat fast. What did you eat Su when you were on it?
HalsAngel
Oct 2 2007, 3:52pm
I didn't do the "FAT FAST" itself~~I did alot of Protein & Good Fats (Butter, Olive Oil, Mayo, etc.)
I would have Bacon & Eggs for brkfst, 2 pork chops for Lunch and a 12 oz. Ribeye steak for Dinner. I would , mix it up alot, like th P.C's for Brkfst~Steak or any other meat for lunch & then the Eggs and sausage or bacon for dinner. For the 3 days I really had zero carbs, then after the 4th day or so I would have a whole can of Spinach with the chops or steaks. Sometimes, I'll slice a tomato & put Best Foods Mayo on it for my veggie along with my Chops or steaks.I rarely ate Chicken or Fish, but that's only because I Love Pork Chops & Beef!
Jen, Sweetie~~just keep the carbs as low as possible & concentrate on MEATS & The Fats I mentioned.
The "Girdle" type thing will help too~~but just remember to~~
DRINK ALOT OF WATER~~NO SODAS~They'll make you retain fluid because of the Sodium.
KISS~~Keep It Simple Sweetie~
Hope this helps~~it Should !

Looking forward to hearing how you're doing tomorrow.
I have to tell you that I personally don't like Complete Fasts, where you eat NOTHING !
When I was in my 30's, back in the 1980's, I went on a Week Long Fast.
Want to know how much I lost~~huh, do ya~~huh, huh do ya~do ya ? LOL
I lost a total of: 7 DAYS !!!!!
That's right~~NO WEIGHT !!!
Now here I am eating until I'm full & I'm Losing weight~~go figure that one!

Hi sue!
I haven't talked to you in forever! You are doing so well! Your pictures are amazing. Do you have a journal on here? Congrats on your 72 pound loss!
I'm up today. I ate way way way too much salt yesterday and now I'm going to pay for it. I never realized until I really started watching what I put into my mouth how really sensitive I am to sodium. I can't season my food with it any more, and I have to watch the prepackaged foods and processed meats or I will bloat like a big balloon. Sometimes though it just tastes so good I can't stop myself. So anyway I will have to fight through that.
Last night my BIL an SIL2B came over to use our internet. They just moved into thier first home and don't have tv, internet, phone..any of that yet. I tried on my dress for them and they both thought it looked like it was supposed to..I don't know. I'll try to find a picture of what the dress is supposed to look like and compare it to what I really look like in it. I guess there isn't much more I can do if it doesn't fit. Suck it up and try to give myself a confidence boost of some sort..may be in the form of a beer or two before the wedding...no I won't do that. I'm not really much of a drinker, but it would make it easier to get through this wedding. I may have to consider that!
