Full Version: Getting a LLVLC Chat?

Hey, Jimmy!

I know I asked you this in a PM, but I thought maybe if I put it here, others might chime in. That way, you can see how many of us would love to have a chat feature on this board and see if it'd be worth the work it would take to implement it.

When us KK Rejects were active on KK, the chat was SO nice to have! Relaxing in the evening with a cup of tea and chatting with friends was so relaxing, fun and it helped to keep our snacking to a minimum with our fingers on the keyboard!

So, could you ask your Admin guy/gal how difficult it would be to set one up? They have compatible chats for Invision Board, Flash Chat, I believe. But there might be others that would be compatible. Or maybe a stand alone chat would be better? (I'm sure someone who's not banned from KK would be willing to give out their log in info so that you could see how the chat there works. wink.gif )

Also, if they need any help setting it up or you need any server space, I'm pretty sure I can help with that!

If there is a cost, maybe the members would be willing to pitch in? I know I would.

Is there a way to cross post to all forums a message about this so that others can vote? Oh! How about a poll? I seem to think I saw that around here somewhere...

Hugs,
Lori

Hey Lori/Jimmy,

This is not the first request of this manner that I've heard. wink.gif Lori - I know how much you guys like to chatter box! smile.gif

Jimmy - is this even possible? I've received several private requests for this too.

Lori, you are one persistent woman... laugh.gif But there's no need to poll any further than the 50,000 posts you've already made about this. wink.gif

I told you already I've asked the admin about it and he's working on it. He got back with me over the weekend and said he is investigating the best way to go about it to try to make it happen. You said you'd be willing to pay for this service, so he's estimating costs as well. This takes time.

Patience, my dear, patience...

Actually, there's a song called "Shimmy Shimmy Koko Bop" that my parents had on an old 45rpm record when I was a kid. We used to listen to their old records and that one always stuck in my head.

There were 2 other ones that also got stuck: "Papa Loves Mambo" and "Standing On The Corner Watching All The Girls Go By"

My parents HAD to be weird. I mean, it was the 50's and they listened to Papa Loves Mambo? LOL No "doin' the twist" or "rockin around the clock" at my house! hahaha

Hugs,
Lori

PS Dad used to listen to FM elevator music in the car when we were kids, too. Made me wanna BARF!

You best watch out (or rather, if you're lucky) all of us musically inclined LOLs will sing it to you .... ready Ladies .... and a one, and a two

In 1969, Little Anthony and the Imperials released a Doo Wop novelty tune, "Shimmy, Shimmy Ko-Ko Bop."
