Well, I watched the movie "the secret" yesterday for the first time since March, and it reminded me of a lot of things I had forgotten.
1.) the more you focus on something, the more you will get
this can be taken as good or bad, depending on how you look at it.
I resolve to focus on a thin healthy me, I will treat myself as if I already am thin and healthy.
I refuse to devote any more time to the KK debacle, it is just draining my energy, and upsetting me. It is stopping me from moving forward.
It is over, I survived, and I am moving on

ME!!! (raising my hand and waving it!!)
Ya know the part where ...um...geeze, now I forgot his name...anyway, the guy that spoke of the parking space? I DO THAT!!
There is a Marshall's store near me and they have a small parking lot in an alcove at the front door. This lot holds about 40 cars or so. There is also a HUGE parking lot, but this one is right near the door, so everyone wants to park there.
Before I saw "The Secret", when I would go to Marshall's I would drive through that little lot and almost never found a spot. It was always full.
AFTER "The Secret", I visualize my "spot" there and I can tell you that EVERY SINGLE TIME I get a parking spot in that little lot! It might not be the exact same one, but it's usually within 3-4 spots of where I always park. Occasionally, I might drive through once and there's no spots, but on the second time driving through, someone will inevitably be backing out of a spot and I'll drive right in!
I tell people this and they think "yeah, right". But I'm serious as a heart attack!!
I did it again last winter when I had to go to a trade show in the snow. I parked 3 times on 3 different days in almost the same spot! The lots were totally full and people were driving all around looking for a good spot so they wouldn't have to walk far in the cold and snow, and each time I just drove in and parked NEAR THE BUILDING!
I know I need to do this with other things, too. If the parking thing works, you KNOW the rest will too! I believe that I'm not believing in other things enough and that's why I'm having a hard time with things: diet, money, job. I really should watch the video every day to reinforce my thinking.
The video is great, although they really did "Hollywood" it up, ya know? But the concept is awesome!

Love,
Lori

I love The Secret. I just recently listened to the audio book and have it playing in my car all the time!
I see how I've lived in that way in some areas of my life but not in all so I need to be using it in all areas. I've never done the parking stall thing though. Funny me. I've got to go wedding shopping today and so I'll give it a try!
I'd like to see this thread get used. How about we post the things we are seeking and working at and what's happening. This will encourage and help keep our momentum going.
How 'bout it?

Hi lori and buzybee, and thanks for stopping by...i agree that the concepts offered by the Secret as so awesome...and do-able...
Lets get going on this:
My first thing will be to visualize myself at my goal, healthy, and full of energy-any suggestions on how to upgrade that?
I dont drive so the parking space, is not of much value to me, but it sure would be nice, especially in the winter, if the bus would show up shortly after I arrived at the stop
Make it a great day!

I'm a believer. It's just like law of gravity but we have choice to practice it or not. I've realized some really goals with it but then get off track.
Need to start practicing it again cuz there are some things I'm really needing like a new vehicle and I'd like a new house closer to dh's work.
Will start visualizing scale numbers at goal....hadn't thought of that.
buzybee
Sep 24 2007, 7:08pm
Great idea ArtDove.
I've lost down to a size I haven't seen in over 20 years. In clothes I like how I look but out of them I'm not so thrilled. I see all the bulges that still need to leave. I'm over halfway to goal but I've got 30+ pounds to go to get there.
In the book she talks about telling herself she is at her perfect weight and I try to do this each day (along with telling myself that my hair is thick and full

) but I think visualizing the scale with my perfect weight number on it will do wonders.

So I'm setting my intention for seeing that perfect weight. In addition to some other things I need. I'm still trying to find the perfect dress for my daughters wedding.
Have a wonderful day!
BTW - I'm back down to my lowest weight with Kimkins and I'm feeling great! I'm doing Atkins induction now and I love it. I was reading on a thread that people were craving peanut butter and such while they were on KK and it explained why I was doing that. I ate them when I craved them so I'm glad I was listening to my body.

I was in yesterday and I was SO happy! Today I'm not. Sigh. I'm so sick of eating meat meat meat meat and...um..oh yeah..MEAT! I mixed it up a bit today, but maybe I shouldn't have:
I had 2 ham patties for breakfast, a protein shake with peanut butter for lunch and STeakUm with some velveeta cheese melted on it with about a tsp of 1 carb ketchup, 2 cups of tea with heavy cream and splenda, and about 4T of cream cheese sweetened with Splenda. I don't see how that would knock me out of ketosis.
I'm a total carb freak, so I have to keep them low. I'm wondering if I'm just eating too much?
Oh wait. I know. I'm not visualizing my sticks being PINK! Yup, that must be it!
I'm gonna try it again tomorrow. What are you eating? I'd like to see what Dr Barry Groves plan is and how it differs from Atkins. I really don't feel like reading and researching, but Cliff notes would be nice! Or someone telling me! LOL
Hugs,

I love 'The Secret'! I am very thankful a friend loaned me the CD's to listen a couple of months ago! My outlook on life has really been changed!
I know what you mean about the parking places!! I always get a good parking place! When I go shopping, I like to get a parking place that is close to the entrance but also near to the shopping cart returns. I don't like walking far across the parking lot to return the cart, especially in the heat!
Anyway, I would love to see this discussion continue! I know I have to listen to the CD's frequently to keep everything fresh in my mind, so talking about it with others will help too!
Jaybee, I agree with you about not focusing on the KK debacle anymore than is necessary! According to 'The Secret', 'energy flows where attention goes' and we certainly don't want any more of our energy going there!! Of course, I am very glad people are standing up and doing what is necessary to stop everything, but I think that it is important to remember once we do what we need to do, we have to let it go and move on! Another law of the universe is 'you reap what you sow', so no one will get away with anything, even if seems that way at times!
May you all be blessed!

diet jello with whip cream
2cups black tea
1bottle water ( i know i need to up the water)
bag of turkey sausages
couple of bacon strips
i think that about covers it , although i have to start writing it down rather than rely on memory---
i am down 2.5 lbs this morning!

welcome artdove, michalle and gweebles!
lori, are there carbs in those ham patties?
thanks gweebles for the adding more good fat idea-i will try it to get those sticks to turn pink (hopefully tomorrow or thursday they will)-btw what are you dipping in to the olive oil?
artdove-cream and cheese-i m liking the idea of the fat in em, but youre right, look out for the carbs!
buzybee-thanks for the reminder about peanut butter, i have some natural pb in the fridge that i could put on celery for a snack-my celery is looking kinda brown on the edges, and my dh hates when i waste food, so i will trim them and plan on having that for my tv snack tonite...
michalle-you are right -energy goes where attention flows and as far as kk goes, i like to visit the anti-kk sites on a daily basis, just to do my part to keep them so popular, that they will out do the kimkins site (if I understand the internet right) But other than that, i do not focus on her anymore, i had to get the anger out, cause as i said on another thread here, "he who angers me, controls me" and i refuse to let that xxxx have any power over me anymore!~ so lets all put our energy into establishing healthy lifestyles- i am thinking about going back to my gym starting mon oct1-(ive been paying for it for about 2 yrs and never going....) i think i will start with some stretching and weight training as i understand the more muscle we have on our bodies, the more calories we will burn, and i am afraid that my kk experience burned some muscle, just a thought
anyway, i should run and get some housework done before i leave for work today, --i just ate some bacon strips and cheddar and i think i will follow it up with a protein shake and some water...
hope i didnt miss anyway here-so glad so many of us are here!
and remember-NO EXCUSES- we are doing this, TOGETHER
MAKE IT A GREAT DAY EVERYONE- LOVE TO ALL

Hmmm..may I ask what your calories are looking like?
I purposely didn't drain off the grease after frying up the SteakUmm and I added Velveeta, plus the cream cheese. I would think that was pretty much fat. This morning, it almost looks like I'm not in ketosis, but then again, it might be just a teensy eensy weensy bit pink-ish. And I haven't been drinking water at all either. Which I should be, I guess.
Oh! I got an online video from Amazon for $7.95 and it's by James Arthur Ray, who is on The Secret video. It's called "Quantum Creations" I'm going to go watch it now and I'll report back on what I thought of it!
Hugs,

Well, sorta. The heavy cream says no carbs, but I know it'll have some if I use a lot. I only use about a Tablespoon or two in my hot tea. Velveeta has some too, but I don't have the outer box with the nutritional info, so I'm not sure how much. Even so, I'm overestimating, I think, just to be on the safe side. I'm even mentally counting the Splenda. (But then when I think I'm going over, I automatically forget about them! Hey! I'm being honest! LOL)
I also used some FiberSure (which is pure fiber, 5 grams per tsp), which is a carb, but according to Atkins, it's subtractable, as are sugar alcohols. BUT, some people said to count them anyway.
So I'm really being rather lackadaisical about counting. That's probably part of my problem.
I need to get real, eh?
Okay, here's my new mantra: I WILL COUNT ALL MY CARBS, I WILL COUNT ALL MY CARBS, I WILL COUNT ALL MY CARBS...

My calories are running 1300-1500. My carbs about 16-20. I am trying to be so good.
I dip my steak in the olive oil, I season the oil with Ms. Dash, the garlic and herb is my favorite. I love a good rare steak, so that oil dip is good. The Mac oil, I can take straight. I take a tablespoonful at breakfast, it definately helps the energy and gets me through the day without munchies!
Velveeta carbs can add up since it is processed, just watch your intake. I LOVE Velveeta BTW.
I recommend water because I can speak from experience diet soda stalls me. I drink tea too, but I might give it up to see if it speeds things along.

Hi Everyone,
Just moved over from KK in the last week or so out of
desperation. Heard from a buddy about all the controversy...and really don't care too much about that...only that I continue to lose weight!!
Have been stuck in a stall since early September....and the weight just won't come off!! In total maybe have lost 4-5 lbs, since late August. My calories on KK were very low, around 300-500 daily, because I have a big event
next week, and losing this month was very IMPORTANT!
Needless to say, I have lost
less weight , this month, than any other month...bad news!!
I have upped my caloires considerably...to around 1200 yesterday, mostly chicken breasts, mayonaisse, 1 oz. of cheddar, coffee with half and half. Carbs totalled out at 17 for the day.
Anywone have any suggestions? I have been using the treadmill at night (hate every minute of it) to no avail!
Maybe the Secret will help!!
Thanks

Hi Sacha,
I'm sure The Secret will help! I've been visualizing what I want and felt the nudges and tried to follow them. Example of not following: Yesterday I was out shopping for wedding dresses for the sisters of the bride. I stopped for lunch and had a chicken salad. Did a bit more shopping and came home. When I got home I was hungry! Why? I don't know. My salad was good sized and I enjoyed it. I ignored the feelings because I rationalized that I should not be hungry this soon after eating such a good lunch. I then ended up going shopping again with one of the teen age sisters when I hadn't planned on it and therefore I didn't have time to eat dinner before I had my exercise class later that night. If I had listened to the little nudge I should have eaten and I would have done better at the class and also would not have been famished when I got home at 10:00 and had such a big amount to eat that late.
All this being said: I'm not upset but recognize that I need to listen to the feelings more than I do. I did end up with a two pound loss this morning and I'm happy to say I'm now under my lowest weight that I've been yet in the past 10 years at least!
I had an Aha moment yesterday listening to the audio book. She was talking about time and that time is nothing to the universe. When we visualize the things we are desiring it is already there in our future. As she was saying this it made sense that speaking in present tense about desired outcomes makes sense. It's already there (in my future) but it's already there so I can say it in present tense. I can believe it and I can put the emotion with it. It's no different than the feelings of excitement my daughter is having for her wedding. It hasn't happened yet but she has vision of what it will be like being married and decorating their home. Things are coming into her life that she is excited about and she is experiencing getting the decorations that she is desiring. It's fun to watch. She doesn't know she is doing this but I do!

Hi everyone,
I read The Secret in June. My dh and I went to a movie right after I finished the book and when we got to the parking lot he asked where he should park. I told him that there was a parking space right in front of the door, the first one next to the handicapped. Well he saw one first several rows away from the door and parked in it. When we got to the door I looked back and there was the space I had told him about. Well he just laughed and said that it was a coincidence!! Then he read the book too!! lol At that time I also made out a bank deposit slip for $ 500,000 to be deposited in January 2008. I also wrote down that I would be in a size under a 12 at that time. Well what do you think? I believe!!!! I have been getting lax with my thinking lately though so reading this post makes me think that I need to get the book back out!! Thanks!!!!!

Right on Pam-funny, I had written the exact same amount $500,000.00 on a cheque to myself from the universe back in March, and i havent been looking at it lately either (I will have to find it).
Buzybee, you are so right, what is that saying from the movie? Believe, Receive, (i forget the last one) -you have to feel these things....and listen to the feelings!
Sascha-i would change from the chicken breasts to the chicken legs (eat fattier cuts of meat) Give it a few days---drink mega water (apparently-i wish i could get in that habit)
I am so glad that people are still coming here-i think we can accomplish a lot more than just weight loss, (not that that is not important) but if we can help each other design our lives too, well....

I just thought i would report in again about my menu for yesterday
i had
2 slices mozzarella
small pkg corned beef
protein shake (weider-7carbs/35protein)
ham and cheese omelette
low carb bar (3c)
2 slices mozarella
pkg peanuts (7c)
low carb bar (3c)
coffee
coffee with cream
diet pepsi with lime
diet ginger ale
1 bottle water (need to drink way more!)
so this morning i weighed the same as yesterday 190.5 (down 5 since monday)
i am trying not to stress about this (kk mentality)
i probably shouldnt have eaten TWO low carb bars, and stayed off the peanuts
i didnt really have a real dinner to eat-must go shopping for meat before work today
NO MORE EXCUSES!
also, the ketostix are just slightly pinkish (slightly a trace) which is better than yesterday when it didnt change at all, but today is the beginning of day4 =wouldve thought i would be in ketosis by now...i am sure i will be tomorrow-as long as i dont binge (ONE HOUR AT A TIME)
lastly, i have had a migraine day1 day2 and day 3 (so far today i am fine) and i take imitrex injections and maxalt under the tongue pills to abort it, and i wonder if anyone knows how these things affect metabolism as i have had 3 injections and 1 pill since monday-the migraines are probably the result of sugar detoxification, i would think...
well, thankyou for listening to my rant-i would appreciate any info and suggestions any of you have

One big thing left out of kk which I knew but thought doh!
it must be magic!
Muscle burns more than fat...lean body mass does make a difference.
Losing muscle not fat makes for lower metabolism, hence build and feed muscle for better metabolism. Metabolism 101 which I got hypnotized at kk that just didn't matter anymore. NOT!
Check out some of threads on workout area here. Charles is great at this forum.

"its not how far your dreams will take you rather how far you take your dreams"
i am going to make a sign and put that one up on my bulletin board!!!
Well you guys, i ate a bag of microwave popcorn with extra margarine on it last nite.
When I got home from work, I was really hungry, because i didnt take a lunch with me, so i just snacked on the almonds that were in my purse. I cooked a different burger patty than the ones i had the night before (thought the ones from the nite before were carbed up cause i hadnt lost anything yesterday) and i had a piece of lettuce and cheese, and some pork rinds....while watching 20/20...
then my son made some popcorn, and it smelled so good, i made some for myself....
never even gave a second thought to how it was going to kick me out of ketosis, but i will tell you the headache i have had all week is gone this am-why?-probably because i am carbed up again, so i am going to have to go through all the withdrawal headaches all over again- i could just KICK myself, i feel so despondent....
i think part of my problem is not being organized and another part is being bored with the foods i am eating-i guess i need to get some recipes to change it up a bit...
i really am depressed, so in some respects HEIDI WAS RIGHT when she insinuated that i needed help, someone to talk to, stress eating, and now i am here trying to be positive, but so down on myself for being such a big failure-i need a big dose of Motivation- positive thinking---i am going to watch the Secret again today, my dh is right on top of all this-he says i need to completely forget about the kk scandal and move on in my life-but i cant help reading all those blogs...it takes hours out of my day, and what am i doing, sitting on my butt, at the computer....instead of doing housework, going for a walk, going to the gym.....living my life....
I started this thread because i really do believe in The Secret- and i want to incorporate it in to my life-i am just having a moment of grief...
thankyou for listening, and if anyone has any EASY recipes for me to try, they would be greatly apprectiated...
my dh told me last night that the first thing i should do to try to lift myself out of this funk is think about what i am grateful for
I am grateful for you guys, who are walking this weight loss journey with me, (my dh is skinny) because we can all relate to the seriousness and complexities of it...
I am grateful for JIMMY, who saw past Heidis scam, and led us out of there, and provided a place for us, and welcomed us all, and supports us all
I am grateful that you are listening and for your responses, suggestions and for coming to this thread-
I havent weighed today because i am afraid- i will be good today and weigh tomorrw
LADIES, MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!

Hello! I'm new to this forum and it's great to see people understanding the principles of Law of Attraction!
If you're craving more info, the Secret is based on the teachings of Abraham.
Abraham-Hicks There is also a great LOA forum to get tons of information!
The Abe ForumThese principles have changed my life!
I'm not following KK, but I am doing low carb and so far I've lost 28 pounds! Or what I say now is that "I've released 28 pounds!" LOL But I think saying released instead of lost feels better. And it's all about how you FEEL!
I've seen lots of other threads, but this one resonates with me because you ladies are just SO positive! And you should be commended despite all the negative controversy around this WOE, you all remain so positive!

Hats off to all of you!
Even though I'm not doing KK, may I join this thread?

Hey FlowerChild and welcome to my forum. I am moving this thread to another room because it has evolved away from being a Kimkins one into something else. We're happy to have you here.

We got moved? Awesome! I don't remember where we were before but maybe it'll be easier to find.
Jaybee- Did you hear that? We've moved on from Kimkins related! Woohooo!
I'm right w/you. It's time to go outside and talk a walk, get some fresh air. I had an opportunity today to spend several hours outside doing some fence work and had plenty of time to visualize animals placed in the right pastures cuz they weren't! All's well now and I'm grateful and it all worked out just as that other thang will.
Know we are here for you and prolly alot of us or going thru the same thing to one degree or another so don't feel alone or for gosh's sake..depressed. A walk helps that pretty quick.
Ok, got to take a nap and then work some this evening....mb watch watch the Secret while I work!
Welcome FlowerChild!! I like that : releasing rather than losing. That's great!
Ok Group Hugs for everyone!!

Jaybee, here is a quote I got from the Abraham web site a couple of days ago.
You can subscribe to get them for free! And some days it's exactly what I need.
There will be a time, not so far from now, that you will look back on this phase of your life and instead of condemning it or beating up on it... Instead of blaming or guilting, you will feel appreciation for it, because you will understand that a renewed desire for life was born out of this time period that will bring you to physical heights that you could not have achieved without the contrast that gave birth to this desire.
Excerpted from a workshop in Boston, MA on Saturday, October 4th, 1997
All Is Well
Stop beating yourself up. It's such a waste of precious energy. You are just right as you are right NOW.
The reason the Secret talks about appreciation is because that releases 'resistance' in the body. You just have to clean up your 'vibration'. Yeah, sounds easy, but I KNOW it's a journey. One feeling at a time.
The Secret does talk about vibration right? It's been quite a while since I've seen it. And I saw the original one with Esther Hicks in it.

So glad to find this thread. I love "The Secret," and I bought copies of the movie and the book for several friends and family members. My copy of the DVD is out on loan right now in fact, so I bought the book for myself this time just a couple of days ago, since I don't always have time to watch the movie, but do want to review some of the principles. I certainly see how the Law of Attraction has been working in my life for better and for worse. I just struggle with learning how to apply it every day. Such bad habits I have! It is funny how often I have run into "The Secret" lately, in fact it was even the sermon series at my church for September! The pastor picks a religious or secular book each month to focus on. Lots of good reminders for me.
Jaybee - I'm so sorry you have been struggling so much. I'm glad you're posting about it, getting it out of your system, and enabling yourself to move past it. We're here for you!

Hi All, *warning - this may end up being long*
I wanted to share my experience with TS (The Secret) principles I had the last couple of days.
My daughter is getting married in two and a half weeks. It's now crunch time to get everything done and pulled together right? This typically means high stress and nerves on edge. All this is happening. I'm trying to dress six girls and four boys in addition to myself. (my husband and daughter are done!) Three little girls were slick! Boys - fairly easy - shirt and tie - other three girls - HORRIBLE!!!! Trying to get three girls 14, 19 & 21 to agree on what to wear and then find it in a store has proven extremely taxing! I've been out shopping for five days solid with one or another looking and coming up empty handed. We finally found the skirt and top on Thursday but I had to travel to three different stores in a 35 mile radius to get the sizes needed. Friday I was in a huge hurry. I needed to drive 25 miles to one of the stores and didn't know if they would have the size I needed. I had to return two of the shirts that didn't fit. When I got to the store I couldn't find my receipt from the previous day when they were bought. I had to be issued a store credit. When I went to get in my car to go to another store I had locked my keys in my car. I still had to pick a daughter up from Karate and get her home to attend a birthday party as well as pick up the other top at another store 15 miles from the one I was at. All three were in different directions. I was frustrated!!! I started to have a pity party attitude and then I remembered the consequences of that so I started thinking about all the things I was grateful for. One of the things I was grateful for was that I only needed to buy one top and one more pair of shoes and we would be done with the girls!

While waiting for my son to bring the spare key to us we walked over to the Payless shoe store to see if we could find a pair of shoes for the daughter that was with me. We did and they were on clearance for $7 normally $30. THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! Son got there with the key. I still had time to get to the other store before picking up my daughter. All the while driving there I was thinking about how grateful I was that they would have the size and shirt that I needed. I walked in and there was a sales lady there who showed me right where they were and Yes, there was the shirt in the exact size I needed! THANK YOU!!!! Got my daughter picked up on time and to her party on time! THANK YOU!!!!!!
I had several other things happened but would be even more lengthy to write but I can honestly say this works! Have Faith!!!!

The Secret is awesome. The principles are simple, but NOT easy. I have a couple of situaitons going on right now that require me to renew my commitments on almost a daily basis, but the truth is that your new realities will manifest if you remain true to your visions.
I have two courses that I bought online that were purely brilliant - for anyone who might be interested. I personally think they're better than The Secret - same information, but more experiential in approach and more focused on swift results. One is called Rapid Manifestation by Robert Anthony, and it comes with a fantastic meditational mp3. The mp3 is short and takes less than 15 minutes. The other is called I Create Reality by Christopher Westra. Even if you are not interested in buy Westra's course, still sign up for his promotional autoresponder series, which is brilliant in and of itself.
I'm so glad to see this thread here, b/c like ALL challenges, weight is largely a mental one. Visualization is good, but I also FEEL (emotion is KEY) us all rapidly slimming towards our goals.

Isn't it amazing how just raising your vibration makes things happen! What a wonderful example of using the principles!
I'm so glad we were moved from the KK forum to the Inspire forum!! This thread really does inspire!
I actually came over to this board from the 'other' low carb board that has all those bashing threads about KK. It is really such a waste of energy over there and I can feel the energy pull just being on that board. The energy here is great! I really appreciate it here! Thank you!!!
I'm getting ready for a trip and was watching the weather yesterday and it showed that thunder storms were coming this way on the day that we're supposed to leave. I just imagined that we were going to have a perfect flight, we were having fun! And we arrived safe and sound. Feeling wonderful! Well, this morning watching the weather it didn't say storms but clear skies and near the 80's!
So I'll be on vacation and should be back about October 8th. I'm looking forward to reading up on all of your manifestations!

The Secret is wonderful...it has changed my life. I never realized how negative I was until I read the book. The power of positive thinking does work.

I'm new to the Secret, just started reading it last weekend after being told by two separate individuals that it has totally changed their outlook on things.
