Well I've decided... gonna throw my gear on the DANDR wagon and head on down to goal weight and healthy living.

I have dieted all my life, Weight Watchers, Mayo clinic, low fat this and that and had some success with all of them temporarily but here I am back at it again. I have done some low carb before -4-5 years ago I did Curves (Still go work out but they have changed the diet and lost me old books in a recent move), and most recently the dreaded K word where I lost 60+ pounds.
I started Kimkins June 14 of this year, My Wedding anniversary at 387. I was 395 in April and 405 in December 2006 but had been trying dieting for a "biggest loser" contest at work when I saw the WW article and joined up (did a little research, but figured low carb worked for me before to the tune of 100 pounds in a year. Gained most of it back since AFTER my baby was born (Yes when you lose lots of weight look out for those hormones and take extra precautions if you don't want to get pregnant immediately) ohmy.gif

So now after KK I am at 325, still have most of my hair, but was probably doing more than the minimal fat that is suggested, calories were around 900-1000 during that time.
(Yeah I know Jimmy, I'm upping them tongue.gif )

I looked around at different plans, too afraid of South Beach and any grains for right now and just didn't like the sound of his plan as much as Atkins. So have a heavy road in front of me as I do not like pork much nor much beef but will have pot roast, prime rib and ground beef from time to time. (Yeah I am one of those weird ones that likes skinless white meat blink.gif

So once I decided and after reading the book, Charles, posts (THANKS for all the info out there guys) and the Atkins web site I has in my head to start tomorrow, but then thought better of it and started today.

Had a cheese omelet (cooked in butter) and some turkey sausage patties for breakfast, a snack of 2 more sausage patties, Lunch was chicken salad with a little onion and celery and real Mayo (woohoo) a small snack of 1/2 a cucumber and string cheese stick. Dinner was a cheeseburger and salad with italian dressing (no sugar in it but full fat) So Thought I did okay considering I'm still kind of fighting that fat phobia then... *Heavy music* I decided poorly (cheating is a choice not an accident -props to sydney) to have the last diet rootbeer (Aspartame) as a dessert jus a little while ago and finished about half of it. So poured it out and got on here to write. I know it could have been worse - could have been real sugar, but I love rootbear and even though I had Diet rite raspberry (splenda) in the house took the other.
So Back on track for now. Tomorrow will be my official start day anyway since I discovered that my youngest DS (the one that came around miraculously after I lost the 100 lbs 4 years ago) decided it would be fun to use his "Safety"scissors to cut up my measuring tape.
After all it has those conveinient little marks all down the side to tell you where to cut
rolleyes.gif

So I want to measure before starting here (even though I did at KK too) as a fresh start to everything.

Well that's it for tonight!

Hi Tria!

Glad to see you found a program that works for you! I'm doing DANDR, too.

Sorry, but I got a giggle out of your DS cutting up the tape measure. You are right, what are those lines for but for cutting! LOL! Reminds me of when I was a kid and a friend of mine poked a hole in my basketball. I was upset, of course, but can laugh at it now. Her reasoning was because it had a hole in it for the air to go in, so she figured she could put another hole in it! tongue.gif

Good luck and I'll see you in the forum! smile.gif

Oh, watch out Tria~

That Jimmy, He's a Charmer, ain't he rolleyes.gif

I'm also from KK'ville and there's at least 6 other's here in the neighborhood, that I was friends with there.
I had a Challenge called the Anthill, then Lorraine & Paula invited me over here to check Jimmy out. Well, actually his Blog, but He's pretty easy on the eyes, so I stayed. Been here ever since ! cool.gif
Then I did the "Pay it Forward" thing and invited 4 other's over & they joined.

You'll love all of us former Hill climbers, here's their names & Journals~
Lorraine: (Rainy69) Rainy's Journal
Paula: (Ginger) Ginger's Journal
Erin: (Red44) Red's Fantastic Journey
Jan: (wishbone) Ridin` My Harley In
Deb: (RymeOrRezon) Rymes Way
Celly (Diet Fanatic) A Fresh Start (not very active)

I have also made friends with an Awesome Lady named Robin M. and you can find her almost anywhere on the Boards.
I've just recently come to share posts with Delynn, but she hasn't started a journal as of yet.
Please drop by my Journal & read some of the posts , then you can get an idea of the ladies I just mentioned.
Perhaps when you have time, you can connect with any of them~they are ALL Awesome women, who will help you out in any way they can.

I'll look forward to having you drop by my place, I'll have a Bottle of cold water waiting for you if you don't want Iced Tea.

He sure is a charmer, and one of the main reasons I love it hereuser posted image -to you Jimmy(of course these are those low carb beer right?)

And Su thanks so much for the invite... I did see the anthill group over there a little mostly lurking, I mainly stayed in the 200+ pounds to lose forum and the 100+ hotties. "cause was really uncomfortable with 400-500 calories and all the fasting people were doing.
Most of the 200 group is here now, all over, and I am still working on getting the latter here now (oops, may be banned now?) I am really worried about two of them one is having heart problems and I really don't want her to continue so I have been PMing like mad there and I know a few have gone to her, but still can't get her to email me directly, I was just sticking around to get those few out, but I may have to lurk until I see there on, post immediately and then well. you know the story I suppose. I just really really don't want to abandon them.
So About that cold water? How about I bring some of the taco salad I made tonight with real BEEF and CHEESE and lettuce to share, even put a sprinkle of salsa on it. SOOO delicious biggrin.gif
I am definitely moving around the forums here a lot more as everyone seems so supportive of sensible eating! Just haven't been to all yet.
Thanks Su and Jimmy for your support!
Tria

lcmama
Su, I wanted to tell you also - Your Grandson is SOOOOOOO adorable!!!
Do you live near him?
lcmama
Well Day one of Induction down, so far so good. I'm hoping I won't really get all the symptoms since I was doing lower carbs before The next couple of days will tell I guess.

Think I did okay today

Breakfast
Cheese Omlette - 3 eggs 1 oz. cheese
(cooked in butter)

Snack, celery (.5 cup)
pepperjack cheese (1 0z.)

Lunch 2.5 oz chicken gcooked on a grill with Veg. oil
.5 cup lettuce
1.5 tbsp ranch dressing

snack
2.5 oz chicken (cooked on grill with vegetable oil)
.5 oz salad
1.5 tbsp ranch dressing

dinner
Taco Salad
5oz lean ground beef
1 oz cheese
1 cup lettuce
I tbsp Salsa

10 glasses of water and 1/2 a diet raspberry soda (Splenda)

totals for the day calories 1559, Fat= 111g, Protein = 114g, carbs =19g
ratios a little off

F/P/C =66/30/4

(I know , I know about the lean beef, but I am using it up) I think I will go get some other though and mix together to get some more fat in there if I need it although my fat looked in the okay to high zone, but according to my BMR I should be eating more calories, Just not sure where to get them without upping that fat too much more.

I must have come out or ketosis now that I think about it because I was hungrier today and yesterday than I had been in a long time. And of course the brainwashing may be setting in. I am looking at that like it is a LOT of food especially to be eating all day, but I tried to eat about every two and a half to three hours so I wouldn't get ravenous and blow it

I can't wait to move on to the phase where I can have Peanut Butter!

Well off to read bed time stories

PLeasant journey everyone

Plus we talk alot on the phone~we truly love one another very much, she loves my son & he's Happy~~and she just gave me Ragan!
So I couldn't ask for more, they need time to form their little family without me butting in.

Tria,
You are Not that old, Young Lady. I know you were born, but that you remember~~now that's amazing.

I was waiting for you you come on over with that yummy sounding Taco salad this morn, reckin you had a midnite snack, Huh ~ laugh.gif

I asked Jimmy what he ate on a regular day~~over on my friend Ginger's Journal he put a link~~because that's where I asked him about it,
But I CAN'T get it~~this damn PC is a piece of crap.

I want to see what this young man is eating that helped him lose 200 lbs., so I'm hoping Rainy, Ginger, Jan, Ryme or Robin will C&P it and send it to me.
If you get a chance to go over there it's: "Gingers Journal"~you could get into it for your own help~~he said it's a 6 week menu plan.

Go check it out Lady, then you won't have to ask if you have the ratio right.
Just follow his plan, I told someone that we had to have been eating 5 to 6 Thousand Calories a day to get this Big~~so, if you think about it~even 2000 Cals will cause a weightloss~right?

Gotta go get a snack, I'm getting lightheaded~~haven't eaten since breakfast & that was at 5am and it's now 2:33pm~~talk to ya later,
Su
lcmama
Hey Su,

No midnight snacks for me, I woke up starving! So I ate most of a pack of turkey sausage for breakfast and snack.

I actually saw that post on Ginger's forum as I was browsing around earlier. I couldn't get the link either and this comp is brand new!

I am slowly working on getting cals etc. up although yesterday was pretty good, today is going okay so far still have dinner to go. (We eat late here with High School football (hence my ticker). So just on while I have the meat cooking. Some Days I just don't get the crock pot going so i gotta come home and cook.
Actually skipped the football thing today and walked the 3 year old to the park to play on the swings.

Well I hope you're kidding about not eating since 5 if not EAT, EAT, !

Good Morning Tria,
No, I wasn't kidding about the time I ate OR how long I'd been UP.~ blink.gif
Funny thing is~I had been up since 2am and didn't take a nap, then was able to stay alert to watch Biggest Loser last night `til 10pm, do my review/recap on the forum & not go to bed `til 11:30pm. Then I got up at 4am this morning, boy does doing Atkins give me moore (?) energy or what! smile.gif

Thanks for stopping by yesterday~sorry I wasn't home. I read your note & left you a reply, then thought, "Dork~she won't read it here, Go to Her place & leave one". So, here I am! laugh.gif

Tria if you're interested in seeing Jimmy's 6 week menus email me at:
suwithnoe@hotmail.com
and I'll email you a copy of it. Ginger was soooooo Sweet to copy & paste it for me since I couldn't get into Jimmy's Link~~so I'll share it with you & whomever wants it~~I like to "Pay it Forward" as much as I can.

Gotta go look over the menus myself~all I had time to do last night was print them out, then it was din-din time & of course Biggest Loser came on~~
The rest as they say~~~~~~is History!

Luv ya, Su
lcmama
Hear you Su, I have those days too.
lcmama
Well, I've been away for a while because so busy at work and home and volunteer front, so much for starting a journal and keeping it up, biggrin.gif

Doing okay so far I think. I started induction on Monday and I am down 5 pounds as of today. I think I am ok with my ratios and getting the fats up etc.
I was reading one of the forums and the debate was on getting 12-15 net veggie carbs VS 2-cups salad veggie and 1 cup reg veggies. Which doesn't equal 12-15 net carbs that I can figure. So I will have to research that more. Just wish I had more time to get on the computer to figure out daily plate, (Haven't used it yet) or at least track in fitday.

Starting to get cramps in my legs at night, so I guess I need to up the potassium (can't find it may need to get a prescription) and calcium, but other than that, feeling good.
I try to eat 4-5 times a day( felt like splurging when I had some Ranch dressing on my salad and with the chicken) How sad is that

I guess I made it to the 'BIG TIME"
I tried to get on Kimkins today and found I was banned TOS violation you know. Never said anything there, was biding my time and too busy this week.

You now belong to an ever increasing group~I don't think your have to say anything over there anymore to be banned. I believe she has her Spys come over here to Jimmy's Place and makes a list of everyone that no longer posts on KK.
I know TOS stands for Terms of Service~~but I call it: "Ticked Off Somebody"!

Kimmer's the one that Violated our TOS~by NOT Fullfilling our Lifetime Membership ~as Red44 (Erin) put it~~
"I ain't Dead yet, but only because I'm not doing KK, anymore."

Tria, I have never used fitday or any other Carb/Fat/Protein or Calorie counting gizmo~Atkins Book comes with a Carb count list & every pkg'd food has one on the side~
So I'm confused~ blink.gif enough without adding something else to do. rolleyes.gif

Hope you have a good weekend Lady & I'll be talking atcha later on.

Wow, what a weekend, DS football team won a big game so Friday night (LATE) went out to a sports bar and Grill with the team. Luckily they have great low carb options and even made the salad without the carrots for me!
Then Saturday we were unexpectedly given tickets to one of the last Dodger games of the season. I was a little concerned, but went anyway since youngest DS had only been to a major league game when he was under a year old and he was pretty excited.
To my amazement... I fit in the seats without having to balance on the edge (you know the little portion that the arm rests don't go out to). Can't remember when the last time that was. If we were to go before we would sit out in the outfield (no arm rests on seats) and buy an extra ticket so I wouldn't feel bad.
Now I HATE hotdogs, but the only time I want them is at the ballpark. But I won't eat them without the bun 'cause I need to pile all the mustard, onions relish etc on top. SO... went looking for a hamburger,(Yuck all premade and wrapped) and found chicken ceasar salad YEAH! No popcorn or cotton candy or peanuts (Still on induction you know)
So all in all did well and had a great time.

Sunday wasn't as good. I hit my head putting groceries away (What a klutz) and had head and neck pain for the rest of the day. So no movement just a couch potato, good thing youngest ds likes to spend time reading. But I seemed like I wanted to graze all day. and what I wanted was fat for some reason. So instead of half an avocado, I had a whole one (split into two different meals), breakfast sausage, chicken salad w/ mayo, cheese, finaly calmed down at night and had a taco salad with cheese and salsa ugh!
We will see how the weigh in goes.
Note to self... Start entering foods in daily plate and remember to track better!

HalsAngel
Tria~

Actually the Sunday foods weren't all that bad~~

As Jimmy would say~~Ain't NUTTIN` WRONG with FAT !!!!

You ate meats & fat~~but NO Sugar Laden Junk !

So consider yourself ahead of the game at this point!

I drove 170 back down to Hanford for my Grandson Ragans' Birth on Set. 7th~~

Maybe we'll have time for one before I move to Okie-homa the last week of March.
We want to be there by April 1st (No, I'm not joking) lol

If there are any others interested in a Ladies Day, we can find a Happy Medium point where no one has to drive too much.
Think about it, I'm sure we could do it!

I know you're busy~~
I'll get my Tria fix whenever I can, just promise not to go longer then 3 days~~`cuz it won't be pretty!

Wow Oklahoma, Why Oklahoma, my bestfriend is back there and says it is very confusing. She got stuck on the turn pike for 12 miles and could not find a way to get off. She is back there for her son's boot camp garduation.
HalsAngel
Hey There Pat,

I guess before I answer your ? of why Ok, I better say Hi to Tria since this is HER Journal.
Tria, I will be sending you more emails shortly~Luv ya! smile.gif

Sweetie I know you've heard this~~but Pat asked me~so here goes:

The cost of living is waaaaay too high here in Calif.!!!

My DH is (or was) a Big Rig Truck driver. He had an accident in his rig the 1st week of June, needed surgery for a broken Femur bone & had 2 Steel Rods (forming a "T") put in his Hip to keep it all together.
He then was sent to a Re-hab center for alot of Physical Therapy.
He came home 32 days later, in the middle of July, within a week he was in ICU from a heart Attack.
He has now been declared 31% Disabled, yet it's not enough for permanent disability benefits. He can NO longer drive a Big Rig!
We do NOT own a home here as they are tooooo expensive (a 2 bdrm fixer upper is over $350,000.) Our rent is~$1,200. a month, and He has No Retirement !
My dh is 68 yrs. old and is very tired & needs to be able to enjoy his final years,
we have only been married for 2 & 1/2 yrs. so this has been a strain on us.
We seem to be going thru our Savings very fast, "JUST" to keep our heads above water and it gets really rough some days!

I have a BIL living in Idabel, Ok. and he said the town is small (6900) & the homes are alot cheaper there. He gave me several Real Estate Co. names to check out online.
I found a 3 bdrm, 2 bath, w/Den Brick home on 1 acre with a 40x40 ft metal shop, a seperate cement & brick work shop that has a walk in Bank Vault (the guy had alot of guns & kept cash there). It has a Stream running thru the Property and has several Fruit & Nut trees.
I offered a Bid & the Owner accepted it & we are in Escrow right now~~we were able to buy this Home for~~$65,000. and our pymts. will be only $450.00 a month.
THAT, my dear is why we're moving to Okie-homa!
I do believe that covers the topic~~`Nuff said, right?
Wouldn't that be a good reason for you to move there? LMBO

I have to go pick up the trailer I bought for the move & run some errands. I also have to drop by & say Hi to some of the other ladies' journals.

Luv & Hugs, Su
pattim165
Su,
Great reasons to move I was just surprised about Oklahoma. I totally understand about the housing as we are strapped to 2 mortgages. We want to leave state once the kids are gone but are leaning towards Oregon, Washington or maybe Arizona (hubby likes the heat) I have always hated the heat but since I have lost the extra padding I am surprised at how cold I have been getting. . Might actually have to buy a jacket.
I used to go to Manteca when I was younger before they closed the water slides. They were so fun I was sorry to see them go.

I am sorry your husband is not doing well that happens frequently when someone gets and injury like that and the stress and change of life often bring on the heart problems.

I searched out the dick clark pictures for you so you can tease Jimmy some more.

Su - No problem Write what you want here!
Things should be getting a little less busy soon at work. We are in the process of hiring a temp to come in while one of the ladies in here is away for Maternity leave. Just think a small town, in laws near by, Less stress from bills, and when the big one hits you won't be on the part of cali that moves away biggrin.gif

Patti, I Hear you about the cold! Since I started losing I have not been nearly as hot and have had to start bring a jacket in to work or wrap in a blanket at night while in the living room etc., Hope when I reach goal my body will adjust and not feel so cold without all the fat blink.gif

Gotta run I'm typing at work
