I T-tapp although I am still a beginner. I began with the BWO+ (Basic Workout Plus) which is only the 15 minute workout. I have the Step Away the Inches but haven't started that one yet. I really like it.

Hi Kristi,
I was very active on the Kimkins T-Tapp Challenge thread. Now, I'm over here. I've been tapping for two months and now attend a weekly TWO (Total Workout) class in NYC led by a T-Tapp trainer. I've lost tons of inches with T-Tapp and do a full workout 3-4 times per week with a short workout on 1-2 other days.
I'll answer whatever questions I can. Also, feel free to call the T-Tapp toll free number and speak with a trainer. When I first started, I called down to Florida once a week.
My first suggestion to you is if you have the "Yes You Can" seminar, watch it. I know it takes time, but you will learn about why T-Tapp works. If you have the Basic Workout Plus (BWO+), begin with Instruction #1. The pamphlet that comes with the workout tells you how long your bootcamp should last. You must initially do it at least 4 days in a row; more days in a row would be based on how many sizes you want to loose.
Finally, you must take your measurements. T-Tapp focuses on inch loss; when you first start you will lose inches, but maybe not weight on the scale.
I have the following DVD's: BWO+, TWO at B/R (Total Workout at Beginner/Rehab), SATI (Step Away the Inches), SITTM (Step Away the Inches to the Max-Core Cardio), HTFS/HTF (Hit the Floor Softer/Hit the Floor), Tempo Lower Body (haven't done the Tempo yet, but plan to next week). (Can you see that I am an exercise DVD junkie

)
I think T-Tapp is incredible...good luck and feel free to ask questions!

If T-Tapping is responsible for those great legs, I'm off to Amazon for my DVDs. Please don't go away, Kay...I'll be right back soon as I've got the discs on the player. Thanks for all the goof info.

Chrysalis,
Those are my dream legs...they belong to Naomi Campbell...ROTFLMAO!
Let me add that I am extremely pair shaped (bottom 1/2 is three sizes larger than upper half) and in 8 weeks of T-Tapping I've taken 4.25" off my thighs, 4.25" off my hips, 4" off my abdomen (that dreaded pooch below the waist), and 3" off my waist. I've never had these kinds of results from my lower body as I typically lose weight from my upper body first. I am completely reshaping my body!

You have to get the T-Tapp videos from www.t-tapp.com Explore the site, look through the forums, view the "Try Before You Buy" section.
For the past 3 weeks, I have been eating horribly...now I am getting back on track. T-Tapp is why I have kept the weight off...I have 50-70 more pounds to lose...I've taken off 35 this year and 70 (total) from my highest weight a few years ago.

Thanks so much, Kay, for the information.
Talk about paring down...you're doing all the good!

I am so impressed. Congrats on you progress, and your stamina.
I just discovered that Amazon didn't carry the programs, so I appreciated the site.
I've just come from there, and hightailed it back over here to talk with you. The site is a little overwhelming. I work 12 hour shifts in the ER, so I can still move it, ...but I just wish I just didn't have quite so much to move. I'm also 60 years old. So, what do you think I should start with--I, too, am an exercise DVD junkie.
Oh, and about those legs! I should have recognized them as belonging to the mythically lovely Naomi. Why is it, Kay, that some of us get stems, and others of us get trunks?

Chrysalis,
I'm off to bed, but I'm glad I stopped back here...I'm just learning my way around the site.
I always suggest to people that they call the toll free T-Tapp number. A trainer will pick up the phone (if you don't get a recording). You can tell them what your current exercise program is, what is your "area of concern" (that's their language for wherever you have globs of fat - "globs" - that's my term

), and what your goal is (how many sizes you want to lose).
When you are on the t-tapp site, take a look at the MORE videos. These are for those with more sizes to loose, more candles on their birthday cake, bad knees, etc. The moves are slower with less repetitions. Here's the MORE link

Also if you call customer service and order you will get the dvd's quicker than ordering online.
Another thing promoted by t-tapp is body brushing. You can order the information and kit from there, but you can also purchase a natural bristle brush from the store and use that. There is a lot of info available online about brushing.
Let's t-tapp!

Thanks, Janiebug...and I love your sig. I'm with all you guys, let the t-tapping begin. Ordered my DVDs, hauling out the heavy duty, rubberized, vulcanized leotard, with the fabulous recoil action--if I can get a leg extended, the long legs of my body suit will spring them back for me, no effort on my part needed, except to keep my foot from kicking me in the face on the return.

Do you suppose I'll get the full benefit?
I'm also using my resistance chair, and working on some moves that Charles--wonderful Charles, sent. And walking. Charles recommended an exercise bike, so I guess I'd better start looking. After all, look what great shape he got himself into.

I'm going to get out my ttap tapes (wish I had the dvd's but have to repurchase to get dvd's).
FWIW, I went to a T-tap w.o. seminar a couple of yrs ago and met some ladies that had lost around 100 lbs....not much loose skin on those gals...alfalfa tabs and skin brushing key according to them...guess I'll start skin brushing again also.

Kristi,
It's not pathetic...It's perfectly normal. Bobbling is proof that you are working to your max. If I really push to my max on hoe downs, I have to keep myself from falling over. Thread the Needle, Balance Sequence, the lunge sequence...I'm falling all over the place...that's the benefit of working out at home!.
If you need to stop the tape, that's not a problem. Below is a link from the T-Tapp threads about going to your personal max:

Congrats on starting; we look forward to hearing your progress. Also, take all of your measurements before starting b/c T-Tapp focus on inch loss.

Greetings, T-Tappers, and T-Tapper Wannabes
Kristi, Kay, ArtDove, Honeysmom, Janiebug, Ocean Blue, Hillary, and me. Wow, eight of us. That's a nice round number, no pun intended. Big enough to generate interest and information, small enough to offer support and kinship.
My packet came today; boy, do they ship fast. I was counting on about two weeks of grace before starting, thinking it would take that long to get the dvds. Kay, I am taking your advice and watching the Yes You Can introduction first, then I'll watch the intro workout straight through, and after I can't stall anymore, I'll start actually T-Tapping. I'm excited, but a little askeered, too.
If any of you have already started, and have any encouraging words, or tips, I'm not proud. I'll take all the help I can get.

Chrysalis,
First - TAKE YOUR MEASUREMENTS BEFORE YOU START! T-Tapp emphasizes inch loss, not weight loss. So many of us are trapped by what the scale says. I introduced a dear friend who had bariatric surgery to T-Tapp. She had lost tons of weight but was unhappy with her muscle tone and shape. She is now a size 6 on top and a size 8 on the bottom; she weighs 160 pounds at 5'-7". Normally, that would translate to a much lower weight, but not withT-Tapp and building muscle density.
Second - Like everything else in life, consistency is key! Better to do a shorter bootcamp (you'll read about those in the pamphlets that came with the workouts) and move on to every other day than to stop T-Tapping.
Third - Read everything and check out the T-Tapp forums at www.t-tapp.com
Fourth - Work to your personal max. Here's a thread from T-Tapp on this topic:
http://forum.t-tapp.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=57554Now get started and let us know how you're doing.

Okay, Mentor mine...
Thank heavens that I'm an ER nurse--I can see that I'm going to save myself a lot of trips to the Emergency Room, by providing my own first aid care. I watched the
Yes You Can DVD, and actually stood up with the audience and tried out the moves. It was exciting, because I really
could feel the difference in the way I normally exercise, and the T-Tapp way.
So, I'm all gung-ho, hanging with the group, and then here comes the hoe-down, very appropriately named, because after trying to keep up, I was one hoe down...on the floor, to be exact, panting and sweating, and wishing I had ice for all the places I'd slapped myself silly.

Just keep me wet, and call Sea World--I am one beached whale. Try doing hoe-downs when you're dyslexic--adds lots to the difficulty factor.
Seriously, I think I can do this, if I am patient and spend time getting the moves down, and stop thinking, after one session, that I'm a misreable failure just because I am so uncoordinated, and clumsy. How long did it take you, Kay, to feel as if you were competent enough to get the benefit of the workout?
Misery loves company, so any one else out there, come on and start T-Tapping. In the meantime, I am off to find a tape measure so that I can track how i am progressing.

Very funny Chrysalis!
Hoe downs are the hardest for me. I look like an intoxicated flamingo. I know because I bought a $5 full mirror from Walmart so I could watch myself to see if I did it right. I didn't.
It does get better and easier each time you do it.

You are one brave woman...I believe that if I watched myself in a mirror, I would be so traumatized, I'd just say
stick a fork in me, 'cause I'm all done.
You're a drunk flamingo? Then I'm an extinct dodo bird.

The more I work to my personal max, the more I bobble. For hoe downs, I am slowing them down and focusing on getting my knee as high as possible while maintaining KLT (knee to little toe) and NBT (no big toe). That means that I'm shaky and for the second time through I start to tip over when I do the singles.
As Theresa says, bobbling is good b/c it means that you are pushing yourself! If you're not there yet, wait until TWO when you have the balance sequence and thread the needle...you think you're bobbling now!
BTW, I have been tapping for about 12 weeks now and I am pretty consistent b/c I do best when I exercise regularly...thems just the facts for this body which is slower to lose....
Chrysalis - what DVD(s) do you have?

Kay...
I have the ones you suggested (I think)
Yes You Can
Total Workout Beginner/Rehab Lev #1, and #2
Instructional #1 Basic Workout Plus
Having a really difficult time getting my pride out of the way so that I can just let myself bobble and wobble, and let my body get the feel of all this. In a round about way, I wonder if my issue isn't so much with doing the moves, but in doing them perfectly. I really struggle beating back my perfectionist tendencys, and I've had to take out my whip and chair to beat them back when I see myself flailing around like a windmill. Upside...i sense my body will respond well to this program, and it holds my interest--even if the only real exercise I am getting right now is screaming at the TV, "slow down...what is this, the Pro-Tapp CD...hey, wait for me...the sweat is burning my eyes, can we take a breakerroo here...THERESA"

I am HOOKED on T Tapp!
Ive been doing the Total Workout Beginnner/Rehab Inst. 2 for about one month now, I do 2 days on, one day off, and sometimes more than that!
This is the first exercise I have ever been commited to in my entire life! I cannot say enuf about this. I never measured, but I can see a difference. I have always had horrible posture and I AM STANDING AND SITTING straight for the first time in my life! It is amazing! I plan on purchasing more of the DVD's when money gets better, I want the walking one, and the Tempo arms and legs for sure!
It took me about one week to be able to truly do the exercises, especially thread the needle, but im feeling like a pro now!

Oct 4 2007, 10:16pm
Chrysalis,
Bobbling is good in T-Tapp; as you try to right yourself, you are working muscles up and down your body. I actually take a T-Tapp class every one to two weeks as there's a trainer in my town. Monday was only my second class, but I am the only one there who has done the tapes...so she had me stand in front. I was bobbling all over the place during thread the needle. The more you keep your feet facing directly forward, bend your standing leg, and then push knee to little toe the more you will bobble. Bobbling equals inch loss! Hope that will get you over your pride!
KUTGW!

Hi, I purchased the T-Tapp book, but couldn't figure out the poses. I am very heavy so I bought the T-Tapp & More DVD. I am going to start the bootcamp next week...I want a few days to review & practice the moves.
Does anyone want to start BootCamp together as a challenge?
Paty and Ladybug,
Congrats on starting T-Tapp. It works for everyone regardless of size or body type. Make sure you take your measurements so that you can see your progress. With T-Tapp, it's about inches not pounds so you must measure.
Also, you should check out the T-Tapp forums (www.T-Tapp.com)...great resource for information and support about the program. Also, you can call down to the T-Tapp offices and speak with a trainer as much as you want. When I first started in July, I called every week with questions. They're really great!
Feel free to post your inches lost here each week (can just be the number lost as opposed the actual measurement).
I started with a 14 day bootcamp of BWO+ (basic workout plus) followed by a 14 day bootcamp of TWO (total workout) so I probably will not do another bootcamp until November 1.
Kay
Kay,
When you say you did a BWO+ of 14 days, does that mean that for the 1st 14 days you only did the BWO+. I am asking because on the brochure I got with my DVDs it says that the bootcamp needs to be 14 days of BWO+ + Instructionnal #2.
I really like this idea of doing the BWO+ for 14 days to start and then switching to TWO for 14 days. Kinda of easier to get into the routine.
Thank you.
Paty,
When I first started T-Tapp, I was extremely skeptical so I only ordered BWO+. I actually dared the program to work. Well, after I saw my inch loss after a week, I ordered the Total Workout (TWO). TWO includes the exercises in BWO+. So yes, I did only Instsruction #1/BWO+ for my first bootcamp.
You can actually get great results with BWO+, but you will eventually kick it up a notch by adding TWO.
Start with Instruction #1. Then move to BWO. Then add Instruction #2 to the end of BWO. Then move to TWO.
The pamphlets provide suggestions regarding how long of a bootcamp you should complete. Your bootcamp must consist of at least 4 days in a row. It is better to do a shorter bootcamp and then move to exercising EOD (every other day), then to burn yourself out with a two week bootcamp.
BWO+ can be done everday; it's only 15 minutes (once you have moved on from Instruction #1).
T-Tapp is a journey. There is no such thing as perfect form, but as you gain strength, you will continually work on improving your form.
Also, check out the forums at T-Tapp.com The support and information is great!

Ok, I got the T-Tapp & more. The instructional video, I did for 2 days and it was kicking my butt. I think because I was pushing & tucking for 45 minutes! I finally switched to the straight through portion (15 min) the past 2 days and it was still a workout, not as tough. I know my form isn't perfect, but getting better. I am going to check out the T-Tapp forum for more tips.
Junebug are you still up for a the challenge?
I am working on a 14 day bootcamp & then will switch to every other day. I am not sure how to measure our progress except to count inches lost. Do you have the guidelines for measuring?

Hi All,
I came across the T-Tapp book this summer and bought it. Even though the exercise directions are very detailed I needed to see someone else do it. So, I decided to order the DVD's. Of couse, I procrastinated. My package came in the mail Monday and yesterday I did Basic Workout Plus (BWO+) for the first time.
I've joined a group over at the T-Tapp forums (former Kimkins members), but it sounds like they aren't interested in discussing diet. That is okay with me. At this point exercise and diet are a package deal for me. I need to feel free to discuss both.
So, here I am.
My background: I joined Kimkins the end of April. I lost too much weight in one week (10 lbs. in 6 days) and my heart started to act up (hind sight - not enough potassium, too much processed sandwich meat). I quit the diet. During May I was able to lose 5 pounds by cutting back on my eating and I started to exercise.
June started at a stand still, so I returned to Kimkins. I avoided processed foods and was able to take off another 32.5 pounds by the end of August. I struggled during September and most of October. The end of this month I got serious about low carb again, and I've now lost a total of 42 pounds. I would like to lose another 7 1/2 pounds. I'm considering Protein Power to accomplish that.
My weight is actually a good number, but I'm pretty flabby for weighing as little as I do. I'm hoping that T-Tapp can help me cinch it in a little more. I would love to lose another 1 1/2" off of my hips.
My stats:
Total weight loss - 42 lbs.
Waist - 5 1/2"
Hips - 8 1/4"
Polly
Day 3 - Oh man, I hope this works, because I feel like a GEEK when I'm doing the workout. Plus, I don't feel like I'm getting much out of it until I do the hoedowns. Yep, after that I feel winded.
I really hope this works!
