Hii Jimmy! First, let me say THANKS not only for the forum, but for all of your advocacy on behalf of all things lowcarb! I enjoy all your insights and you are truly a leader.

My only suggestion is this... it seems like there a lot of separate forum sections... maybe some of them could be brought together... feels somewhat fragmented, I never know which section to go into. Just my 2 cents!

Have a great LC weekend. (I was pretty bad this week, on the road at offsite meetings and the food/ excerecise part went you know where in a handbasket!)- back on track now though.

Thanks again for all your work!!!

THANKS for sharing, Tymom! I attempted to conglomerate the various forums into singular categories early on and a lot of people said they had trouble finding what they were looking for. That's why everyone is laid out on the front page like it is. Yes, there's a lot there to look at, but it lets you pick and choose what YOU are interested in. Since there are HUNDREDS of people here now, that's a good thing. biggrin.gif

I appreciate your very kind comments about the work I am doing and I hope to continue to live up to your expectations in the future. THANK YOU for sharing your feedback! wink.gif

Jimmy

I just want to thank you again for providing this refuge for all of us!

Is there a way to have a list of favorite forums/threads? I never can remember ok where's the recipes or kimkins survivors, etc.

Also, is there somewhere to start a Teacher thread? Where do u think would be most appropiate?

TIA and keep up the great work!!
Jimmy Moore
You can SUBSCRIBE to any thread to get updates on any new posts there. As for a "teacher" thread, you could put that in the Forum Free-For-All. THANKS!

It's easy to get lost in the most delightful ways. I love exploring, but I also can get frustrated when I can't remember what forum, or what thread I'm following. I solved that problem by providing an email address on my control/personal info page. Whenever I read a post in a forum I find interesting, or find a new thread, I click on "subscribe."

Whenever a post is made to that thread or forum, a notice goes to my email address. Note that this is not the same as a PM message. I have a separate email I set up just for La Vidaville. When I check my emails, there are notifications of new posts in the forums/threads to which I'm subscribed. I can either read the post right there in my email, or I can click the provided link, and go directly to the post in La Vidaville.

This way, I never miss my favorite areas, but I'm also free to roam, without gettng lost. Maybe you might experiment and see if this method might simplify things for you. wink.gif

And I, you, Jimmy.

I know that we focus a lot on the aftermath of over there...but I try to remember that your blog was a peaceful, dynamic place before it was overrun by Kimkins refugees, with its own personality, and pace, and rhythm. There was life here, before all of us were made welcome, and I hope that all of your original readers know that we not only appreciate what you have done for us, but what they have given us, too. Acceptance, empathy, room to grow, private places to grieve, gentle prodding to get on with our lives...you must be very proud of all these generous, compassionate souls.

I wonder if your original readers didn't feel, at least a little bit, like the displaced only child when a baby brother or sister arrives, and all the attention suddenly focuses on the red faced, squalling, new addition to the family? Or maybe they feel like the children in a newly blended stepfamily, having to share their parents, share their rooms with stranger-siblings, deal with new rules, and situations, and do it all with a smile and a good attitude. If they do, they never showed it, never showed us anything less than their hospitality. On behalf of all of us, I just want to say to them, "Thanks for keeping the front gate open, and the welcome mat in front of the door. We're safely home now, because of you."

Awww, you're making me cry now, Chrysalis! Hey honey, ya got a hanky for me so I can wipe this keyboard off. smile.gif

Those words meant so much and I appreciate you sharing them. God bless you!

Wow, Chrysalis, you couldn't have said it better. Jimmy's site isn't all about "anti-other", it has been nothing but a new supportive place for some of us friends to gather and make new friends...and move on. I feel very at home here, very welcome, and very sure that there is an abundace of advice and support as I persue the LC lifestyle.

Jimmy, I appreciate you so much. Your warm and funny spirit is infectious and your making this place has meant the world to those of us who struggle to find acceptance of our LC lifestyle with our IRL friends and family. It's funny to me soemtimes, with all the negativity surrounding the internet, all the "be careful warnings" but I have found many really wonderful friends.

Thanks again Jimmy.

Well, yes, Jimmy Moore, I do happen to have a hankerchief: Take your pick. The only proviso is that you'd better be using it to mop up tears, and not for honking snot. laugh.gif

PS: Jimmy, I have long been curious about this exclusively male custom, now that we are on the subject of hankerchiefs. Why is it that after a man blows his nose, he always opens the hankerchief, stares into it intently, as if he were looking under the hood of a car, and examines the contents? Like, what? He's expecting to find a gold nugget, or a pearl, instead of a booger? I just don't want to go to my grave without that question answered. It would bug me for all eternity.

PSPS: (Or, is it PPSS?) Don't you love it when the PS is longer than the original note? tongue.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif

Thanks again Jimmy.

I haven't met you, I.Luv.Lucy, but I am very happy we've corrected that situation over our mutual praise-a-thon for Jimmy. We just have to be somewhat carefull--he'll probably kill everyone who has been singing his praises, if he gets all puffed up with pride and shows a gain on his scale. How many carbs do you suppose there are in about 500 generously sweetened helpings of "thank yous"? dry.gif rolleyes.gif

THANK YOU Amy and Chrysalis! I'll take those carb-free treats ANYTIME!

As for snot in a hanky, Chrysalis, I wouldn't know. Never carried one with me. But I did have an old college history professor who used to hawk up snot in the middle of class and spit it into a handkerchief, then wife his mouth or shiny bald head with it. EWWWW! ohmy.gif

Dinner is served, and slick down that comb over, Professor.
