I am having a hard time remembering exactly where I posted and am looking all over every time. Is there a way I can mark my posts so I can go directly to them?

Thanks.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but there are options for tracking and subscribing to posts. Click the Options button near the bottom left of the thread window. It will expand and you'll see what options are available.

THANKS Linda! That's what I was going to say. biggrin.gif

The terms Tracking and Subscribing can be a little confusing. Use Tracking when you want to subscribe to a particular thread within a forum. Use Subscribe when you would like to subscribe to a whole forum including all the topics within that forum.

Once you've chosen to track or subscribe to a thread or forum, you can go to "My Controls" at the top of the page. Under Subscriptions, click either "View Topics" or "View Forums" to see which threads and forums you've subscribed to.

One drawback that I can see from tracking or subscribing to every post or forum that you've posted in is that you will continually get emails every time a new post is added to that thread or forum. I don't see any way to turn off email notification. Do you know if there is a way, Jimmy? I only see an option to automatically receive emails for any threads that you've posted in but not the other way around.

Under Board Options/Email Settings I found this but it would only make you get more emails:

Enable 'Email Notification' by default?
Enabling this option will automatically subscribe you to any topic you start or reply to.

Thanks, LindaSue.

How do most people keep up with where they have posted. If I post in 8 or 10 places late at night, I am brain dead and the next morning, I can't remember where to find it in case someone commented.

These are excellent questions that I will take to my admin for assistance. THANKS!

Maybe I don't really understand the question, but here's how I keep track of myself. You wouldn't think a woman my size would be that easy to lose. tongue.gif biggrin.gif rolleyes.gif smile.gif ohmy.gif wink.gif laugh.gif

I click on my name, that takes me to CHRYSALIS. Under my name is a prompt that reads something like "find all posts by this writer." Click on that and it will pull up everything you've ever written, in chronological order. On each recorded posting is the name of the forum/thread where you posted. Then save that to you favorites.

And if I'm on the wrong page again...well, I'm just good and lost.

THANKS for sharing Chrysalis! Sounds easy peasy to me! wink.gif

That's brilliant, Chrysalis. I checked it out and if you click on the name of the forum under a particular post, it takes you to the forum where you'll find that message. If you click on Post Preview it takes you directly to the place where you posted that message.

Also, you can unsubscribe from any of the forums or topics that you subscribe to by going to the "Subscriptions" section under "My Controls." FYI!

Like LindaSue, I was wondering if it's possible to track/subscribe without email notification - as you can with vBulletin. I haven't found a way to do it with this board yet.

You can also use the search function to search under the name of the person you are looking for posts from, or under your own name for that matter.

Here's what the Admin said:

Subscribing to a topic/forum in Invision Power Board means that you
will receive "one e-mail for each topic you are subscribed to until
the next time you visit the board." There is no way to disable email
notifications for a topic/forum you are subscribed to, since that is
the main purpose for the "subscription" option in this forum software.
If you would like to view your subscribed topics/forums via the "My
Controls" section without receiving notification emails, the only
"loophole" I can think of is suggesting that you change your email
address to an account that you don't use, in order to bypass the main
functionality of the subscription option.

Hey everybody if you click on My Assistant at the top of each page, you will get a listing of your last 10 posts. I have found it very helpful.
