Full Version: Why is my Privacy being violated over Kimkins?
Low Carb Discussion Forum > What's Got Your Goat Today? > What's Your Beef?
Dave
I just recieved an email from some lawyer about a Kimkins class action.

1. I did not authorise my information to be given to this lawyer

2. I did not authorise my email address to be included (not BCC) but CC to all these other members on the list.

mad.gif I know the anti-Kimmer brigade has been ruthless in it's actions, but I have done nothing to you!

Please stop violating my privacy.

Hey... between the hackers and the spies, I'm being violated everywhere I go... here, LCF, AND Kimkins.

sigh

It's so stupid. Seems like everytime I write something about the "issue", it shows up in someones blog or thread.
Sparkys Girl
I had this happen to me a couple of times too Regandy. I don't mind getting the truth out, but I don't want to become a pawn in the game.

That's why at some point it may be better for us to just move on from this topic of discussion and get to the REAL business at hand--weight and health improvements with the amazingly healthy low-carb lifestyle. Ya'll with me?

Yes, Jimmy...lead us through the wilderness to the place you promised us--La Vidaville--a kinder, gentler, smarter home for low carbers of all levels, and persuasions. Part the Red Sea and guide us through to the promised land. (But hang on to your rubber duckies, everyone. You don't want them floating off when the sea surges back together, separating us, forever, from Kimmer.)

We've all needed to be heard, regarding our Kimkins' experiences, but can we please move towards closure? We have forums up that deal with what SUNNY called Kimkins Post Traumatic Stress Syndrom. Let's go there for healings and ventings, as needed, and purge all things Kimkins from our threads and topics. It seems that Kimkins has wormed its way into nearly every forum we have. If we wanted to spend that much time with Kimkins, why did we ever leave? Go ahead and give me the gong, vote me off the show. But lets at least think about diverting some of our group energy, fire, intelligence, research, and creativity from the negative, to the positive...Livin' La Vida Low Carb.

Diet Don't Dish (At least, not Kimkins--everything else is fair play, and encouraged. wink.gif Who said, "If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit by me?" Was it Margaret Truman?) tongue.gif

I think we need to remember that there are new people leaving Kimkins every day, and so while many of us are "over it" and sick of hearing about it, for those newly leaving, their wounds are still fresh and venting and greiving in a safe enviornment is probably a healthy way of moving forward. I agree that it would be bad to get bogged down in this with no end in sight, and I'm hoping that this will all come to an end soon. I'm glad to hear about the post-traumatic thread, and there seems like there are other threads where those that are still working through this can go, that is great, and those who are sick of hearing about it should be able to find Kimkins/Heidi-free threads too! smile.gif

Dave - I'm so sorry to hear about your concern. I agree that is outrageous for people to forward your info to anyone. It's fine to let ex-members know what their options are if they CHOOSE to ON THEIR OWN file a complaint/dispute with PayPal, BBB, or FTC and to participate in the class action lawsuit if they so CHOOSE, but there are plenty of ex-members who want to avail themselves of these options that no one needs to try to drag others into it. I'd be mad too Dave. mad.gif

Dave, if you still need to vent, then post away my friend. Everyone will move on at some point. Some will be ready before others. I think Jimmy's point was just that we don't to become so immersed in it all that we forget to take the next step towards healing. And as Kelly said, some of us have been here a while and had our say. We feel better. While others are just arriving and still dealing with the emotions of it all. We need to be patient and understanding with each other. This isnt' something that's just going to disappear overnight. It will take time. This time next year I'm sure we'll be saying Kimmer who? biggrin.gif

I 100% understand where you are coming from Dave... I have been away from Kimkins for a while, although I haven't been banned, I do go in to peek at what is going on...

I asked a while ago, to change my user name, and it was done... I just got sick and tired of everything I said being taken and posted and twisted all over the place... Good Lord people...... don't you have worthwhile lives??

Someone alerted me and told me I was being discussed as being some major mole somewhere, because I wanted a change in my user name there...someone hacked into the K site and copied and pasted private PM's on a blog called "truth"

There it was, right there for everone to see it... a discussion that was supposedly supposed to be private...after all, it was being discussed in a private PM...
That's really an ethical classy thing to do, now isn't it? blink.gif
What are these people thinking?

This is frightening...after all they listed K/H's address...phone number... social security and other private information... Just how far will these people take it?

I do not condone what this woman did... But to display this kind of info. is dangerous!!!!!

To hack into the site, and lift and display private PM's makes them no better than K/H in some areas.
It IS WRONG! SHE WAS WRONG... what IS the point?
TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT.

SO I wanted to change my name... KNOW WHY??
I want to be able to post, and not have to worry about finding my posts splattered & twisted all over the place..

I personally am NOT interested in the war against Kimmer...
(I am a peace lover) rolleyes.gif

I too, want them to leave me alone too Dave!
How did they and WHO managed to get a hold of your email? You are NOT the first one this has happened to.

If I want to, or have to change my name...it is because of the invasion of a bunch of obsessed people... Who I consider to be dangerous when they engage in these kind of actions.

Good Grief...Kimmer is exposed and naked... eeewwww... ph34r.gif
lets move on... there is life beyond this mess... lets get on with it!
It's gettin OLD! wink.gif

My real user name? OSUZANA... and I want it back!
Dave
Grennie!

That's horrible! That truly is an invasion of your privacy. No one has permission for that!

Folks, this is a seperate issue than Kimmer! It's not Kimmer doing it! I'm sorry if you think we all have to bury our heads in the sand about anything Kimmer....but I don't agree with that philosophy!
