I don't have any big plans, but I wanted to create a place where I can dump my thoughts about whatever's going on in my pretty little head!

I'm a "Kimkins Survivor" so-to-speak. blink.gif I have to admit that although I used the site for about 2 months, I only did the diet for about 3 and spent a lot of time guilting over not sticking to it. Can't imagine why... Egg Beaters and chicken, what's not to love!!!

Before the whole shake-up, I decided to go back to the South Beach Diet. It really is better on the beach!!! wink.gif

Today, however, I'm thinking of doing Atkins induction for a couple of weeks. I really want to lose some weight around the middle and get a little boost. Ketosis should do the trick -- besides, I really miss that ketosis breath! Feel free to post your best induction recipe here if you like!!!

In my real life, I'm engaged (and finally getting serious about the wedding!), and I have a beautiful 14YO daughter. My fiance has an 11YO son who lives with us full time and is giving us a HECK of a time right now. Very stressful!!!

I work a full-time job at a financial services company. I develop training and communication for software rollouts -- in simplest terms.

On the fun side of life, I'm also a Mary Kay beauty consultant! I just love it!!! On Monday, we had a whole day of talking makeup with a professional makeup artist. It was tons of fun!!! If anybody is looking for makeup or skin care tips, feel free to ask. I love helping people with that stuff!!!

Congratulations on your engagement/future wedding!

I was a Mary Kay consultant for s short time. I didn't have the time to put into it after I opened my shop. I LOVE Mary Kay products!

You are one busy lady! This forum, a 14 yr old daughter, an 11 yr old unruly soon to be stepson, a fiance, a full-time job and a Mary Kay consultant!!!!! I think I need a nap! wink.gif

Maybe that's why I'm stressed out all the time! I thought everybody lived this way!!!

I do the MK very part time. In spurts mostly! wink.gif But it is the one big positive rejuvenator in my life, ya know?!

Can't give up the kids (tho some days I'd like to!), and the job is a pretty big necessity too. In fact, if you think this is bad, I didn't even cover all the financial mess I'm in (including foreclosure!). Some days, even I don't know how I do it. And I DO take naps on Sundays!!!

We're not having a big wedding or anything. Just us, the pastor, and a few family and friends. We're pretty broke, so that's all we can do unless we want to keep waiting.

Thanks for posting to my journal! I was so afraid no one would come!!!

I tried to go into my "Lifetime Membership" Profile & got a Big sign saying I'd Violated TOS Rules or something like that.
TOS~~to me it stands for "Ticked Off Somebody". Whatever !

HalsAngel, thanks for carrying the banner in my absence. It's sad isn't it that people want to lose weight so bad that they're willing to do anything to themselves and others? And even sadder still that someone like Heidi is so money-hungry that she's willing to endanger people!!!

TOS = Ticked Off Somebody... LOVE IT!!!! Also love your scale quote!!!

I guess I am pretty busy and overwhelmed. Don't really know what to do about it though. Mary Kay is the only real "optional" item on the list, but I need that one to keep my positive attitude. It's the one thing I do for ME!!! Besides, I really don't do a whole lot -- certainly not as much as I would like.

Oh, and apparently Mary Kay works, cuz I am 41 YO myself (yup, seriously!), and definitely old enough to have the 14 YO!!!

Ok, this has nothing to do with anything, but I told you I was using this journal to post whatever's on my mind!!!

A couple of days ago (yes, I'm 41 and this just hit me a couple of days ago), I came to the most obvious realization. I'm addicted to weight loss infomercials, articles, etc. I think literally addicted. But that's not the realization. Here it is: When they show you some sexy woman with toned abs holding out her pants a couple of inches, THEY PROBABLY PUT BIGGER PANTS ON HER!!!

Ugh, why didn't I think of this before?!!! Now, I'm not saying they're all like that. I certainly am not implying that about anyone personally. But I was watching some workout video infomercial, and it just hit me like a ton of bricks!!!

I am now declaring WAR on weight loss infomercials! I will no longer watch them, and I won't read about the latest "get thin quick" plan in the tabloids either. Again, no personal offense to Christin or anyone else who has been featured in a magazine in their old pants. This is about me, and my warped mind. I need to regain control over what I'm putting in it.

Sweetie, you don't look 41 so you're doing something right!

I've never tried MK~did some Avon about 44 yrs. ago, when I was a teenager because my Mother used it.
I just use vaseline to take my make-up off and SeaBreeze afterwards,
but I noticed that women of "Color" and yes, Portuguese is now included in that as well as Hispanics, Asians, Indians & Blacks.
We have more oils in our skin so it doesn't dry out. I love the new saying in Hollyweird, "Black Don't Crack", it must be true because most Black Women have Beautiful Complexions!
The fact that I've never Smoked & don't drink Alcohol has helped~~because we all know what Smokin` does to a Woman's Skin, now don't we!
A Great Healthy Food Plan & Lots of Water to drink, doesn't hurt either!

Sorry, it's been a while everyone! Thanks for the kind words HalsAngel. You look awesome for a g-ma!!! WOW!!!

Well, I've just been super-busy at work and home lately. No time to post anything. Bummer!

I've been doing pretty well on South Beach, but getting a little "sneaky" with the carbs. Last night I broke down at a "dessert party" and had a sampler plate of all three desserts! One was sugar-free, and they were small pieces, but this was just the event I needed to move me to make a change.

Today I did Atkins induction, and I'm planning to stick with it for at least a week. It's gonna be a stretch after enjoying the whole grains on So. Beach, but it'll be worth it!!!

I'm really dying for some chocolate right now. Maybe that flourless chocolate cake from the recipe board! If you haven't tried that stuff, you are SERIOUSLY missing out!!!

I only have a second, but I had a really rough weekend.

I had my nephew's 2nd b-day party and a church party, no time to do ANYTHING, and lots of carbs right in front of me. I did fine for a little while, but by Sunday the stress overtook me and I caved in!!!

Back on induction today. Starving, so obviously not in ketosis or anything. Oh well... weight loss is a journey, not a race. As long as I stay the course, I will reach my destination!!!
