I know there is a thread here on yogurt in induction and I was afraid this would get lost there...The only thing I missed doing kimkins was dairy..I was a big dairy person...I seemed to remember in the old days on Atkins there was a big thing about yocheese (draining yogurt) then I think it turned into greek yogurt..Well I have sitting in my refrigerator 5 whole fat greek yogurt..The problem? I am not in induction, I have lost 67lbs...I keep picturing this big white glob of all the fat I've lost and that keeps me motivated...I am constantly in ketosis funny I need someone to tell me its OK to eat this yogurt...or has this trend reversed itself? or was I dreaming it was there????

Read your labels and don't overdo it. My friend and fellow low-carb communicator Lora Ruffner wrote about
"The Yogurt Exception" for people who are livin' la vida low-carb. Avoid milk if you can, but eat your full-fat cheeses for a good source of dairy, too.

I can't tell you that it's OK for your body... but I can tell you that it's OK for you to have it and find out how it works for YOU.
I can eat the Dannon Carb Control Smoothies, I can eat plain yogurt, I simply CANNOT eat the Dannon Lite & Fit line.

I do eat some Greek Yogurt a few times a week. I count it as 2 gm carbs per half cup and don't eat more than 1/2 cup a day. Over all, I try to limit yogurt, cottage cheese and other cheese to no more than 1/2 cup a day of any of them. Maybe I'd lose faster without them, but I enjoy them too much to give them up altogether. Did you see the True About Food show on Discovery Health that showed that if you eat low fat dairy with fat, it mixes with some of the fat in your intestines and then passes out of your body undigested? The men in the experiment were eating a lot of dairy. Like maybe a qt. a day. Interesting show, although I'm not sure how it applies to a low carb diet.
